We came here in 2014...new owners just having their 2nd babe and the place was like a little cottage in the woods...it was "a very merriment place" then! Two years later, things have changed...garden has been thinned out abit, the "Middle Cottage" has lost it's magic and is just another cottage...it is in need of something...something to brighten it up...some...

We stayed two nights in this beautiful English garden setting by the river. The cottage was cosy, self contained and everything you needed provided for cooking if you wish. The homemade shortbread was yum. The owners were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed walking into Bright along the river to many lovely cafes .We rode our bikes to Myrtleford and back.An easy ride...

We spent two nights in the Woodsmoke Cottage. It was absolutely beautiful. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly, and the cottage has everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Fully self contained but close to town if you want to eat out. It is a 10-15 minute walk (walking slowly!) by the river into town, or a 2-3...

Spending two nights here in front of the fireplace, glass of red wine in hand, life does not get any better. A warm welcome from Alistair and a cosy, comfortable, thoughtfully decorated cottage awaited us after our journey. The township of Bright is a mere 5 minute stroll along the banks of the Ovens River, full of delightful coffee shops...

Stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate partner's birthday. Beautiful property and great location - easy walk into town along the road or river. We stayed in a ground floor apartment. The apartment itself was great. Log fire and comfy bed. The only issue we had was with the noise coming from surrounding units. We could hear the footsteps...

We stayed in Stonewall, a 2 bedroom cottage. It was extremely comfortable and had everything needed except for an oven. The owner, Alistair, went out of his way to make everything comfortable for us. I would recommend this for a short break.

Hi Merv Thanks for your review. We're glad you had a nice stay. We are working on combating the lack of oven by purchasing BBQ's with a roasting feature to put on each deck. We have one at Stonewall as it stands with more coming soon.

My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing 2 night stay in the Lynchgate cottage at Merrimeet in mid-May. Alistair and Kellie were charming hosts and the cottage was clean, snug and very comfortable. There were just 2 issues that visitors should note 1) Visitors with mobility issues could encounter difficulties using the shower which is over the spa bath....

Hi HawkerAustralia Thank you for your feedback and we're glad you had a nice time in Lychgate. We have received a fair bit of feedback about the bathrooms in Lychgate and Woodsmoke and the concern for those guests with mobility concerns. So in order to remedy this, we are getting both bathrooms renovated this coming July. Rather than a large...

We arrived in Bright on the rainiest day in May! The leaves on the trees had started to fall but still in glorious colour. Thanks to Alistair, the sunshine was in the wonderful welcome and delightful "middle" cottage surrounded by beautiful grounds and the flowing Ovens river. All the amenities one would need, including welcoming home made biscuits and the...

Hi SusieN65 Thank you for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here despite the wet weather! The twins are doing very well and hopefully we will see you again in the future, by which time they will be running about the place.

We stayed in the one bedroom cottage, peaceful, comfortable and a private garden setting. Less than 10 mins walk via the canyon walk to town. Very serene and look forward to visiting again..I can't forget to mention the home made shortbread from our hostess, delicious!
