Cute and friendly cat greeted us on arrival which was a hit with the kids. The standard room was $115 for three of us. The kids would have liked a swim in the "solar heated pool" but it was freezing (obviously not heated!). Room was very comfortable, good beds - no where to wash your dishes though which meant leaving...

The first time I tried this hotel and for the budget price, the refurbished rooms are quite large, clean and well appointed with fridge and microwave for self catering and also good wi-fi. This hotel is the furthest away from the busy railway and highway traffic between melbourne and adelaide , with enough town between to pretty much shield the...

Well there was a group of us and I have to say the bed was comfortable and the water was hot for a shower, but the state of the bathroom was certainly in need of an update and the whole unit needs repainting and updating for the price we paid.

Stayed here based on reviews, had a room that was not refurbished yet, found the cost to be more expensive than I would expect for the room standard. Very cold room, with a very noisy airconditioner. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom, and not very good water pressure. The water took about 5mins to start to warm - hugely...

We chose an unrenovated room which was perfect for us for one night. The lady at reception was friendly and full of useful information about the town. Wifi was great. Take away shop straight across the road had great food.

We chose an unrenovated room which was very clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, cinema etc. There was a pleasant pool and outdoor area which we did not make use of.

There was no vacancy at the Southern Cross, having read trip advisor we came to the Central. It is as per the other comments, clean and comfortable beds, otherwise very basic. I was offered the choice of two rooms one not refurbed for $95 or the refurbed room for $110 which I chose. Probably a little expensive for a budget...

This motel is very clean, quite basic, comfy bed, we slept well, but in a fantastic position. Walking distance to everything in the town centre. Some of the rooms have been modernised, we had one of these. The owners are nice and helpful.

The Ararat Central Motel is not a young motel. Some of the rooms have been refurbished and others are waiting to be. There are continental breakfast makings but no breakfast menu or restaurant. My husband and I travel to Melbourne 3 or 4 times a year and prefer to break the journey with a stay over along the way. We...
