Stayed here for 4nights recently for a conference.Being at the beachfront really makes up for what to me are easy to address quibbles--the airport filter not keeping too much of the street debris from coming in to the room for one.Breakfast was tasty, would love some brewed rather than instant coffee though--otherwise very satisfying.Fairly quiet and minutes from the airport, one trike ride from city center--good to decompress in this place.Strong wifi for those who need to be wired.
Sir Rob here lol, I stayed at this resort for 2 weeks in late August. First time ever to the Fillipines!!! I really enjoyed my time at Baia Norte! I stayed in the family deluxe room which had 4 beds, bathroom (western style) and shower (hot water). It was all that was available. Wifi worked, had air conditioning, even cable tv (I had to plugin)!!. The water pressure is low, but that's normal after staying other places. Be ready to learn to bucket! The room was clean, and they will clean it if you ask. The room was right on the beach! I could wake up, and walk 30 feet or so straight up to the beach and sit and have breakfast. Not all options are available every day, but that's due to local supply etc. Portions are small and dont expect gourmet. However, taste is a matter of preference. I love chorizo/corned beef with rice and eggs, so it was great. It was a great experience waking up and seeing the fishermen hauling in their nets and families swimming... during a nice sunrise. Be ready for lots of stray dogs. If you feed them like I did, they will become your new best friends, so be careful!! That being said, it was nice having the same 1 or 2 lay down next to me while I had breakfast at 6 am. When leaving the hotel, give them your hotel key to hold and say babalik ako (I'll be back later) lol. They will hold onto for security reasons. One evening I was greeted by a security guard who gave me my key! Be sure to read their hotel policy card! There are a ton of seafood and bbqs places along the beach (baybay). It can get pretty lively at night and I saw local law enforcement about which made things feel safer at night. However, use common sense, there are no street lights at night!!! There are also bars such as Lotus Bar that do karaoke and serve great drinks to beat the heat. Most places speak enough English to get by. Smiling always helps! Getting around is by tricycle for there in the local areas and to Roxas. To get to further cities you tricycle to van terminals and load up. Through trial and error and asking bartenders and friends: -people may not pick you up if you're by yourself. It costs them more for solo trips and if you are foreign, they might be scared/shy etc. -if you manage a solo trip, like from Gaisano Mall back to bay bay beach, you may pay 10-40 pesos, to make up for missing passengers. - if you get a ride with someone on already, the cost is 10 pesos or so - front desk might be able to help, I dunno didnt try - try to bring exact change, dont be breaking big bills on 'em! - dont bother looking for seatbelts and have fun riding in all the different positions! My only challenge, and I say that because this is normal everywhere, was ants. Be ready to purge the room now and then. I slept in specific beds and put clothes away from some areas. Dont leave food out! I came with low expectations given the earlier reviews but was VERY happy with my stay. You can't beat $40 a night and everything is extremely cheap, fresh and delicious. There are enough conveniences everywhere to make you feel not entirely out of your element. Just remember, when in Rome... Last of all, everyone was friendly! Try to learn Ilongo, the local language too!…
I have read some reviews in advance about that hotel about the bad service, the bad food and the missing pool. Anyway I have decided to come here as the price seems to be reasonable to me. When we arrived very early in the morning they gave us at least a simple room in advance to relax even the check in time is earliest at 2 pm. I was quite impressed as this is for me an additional service which I didn’t expect. That’s why I give here an additional star. But the rest!?!? What can I say. No WLAN available, no swimming pool, no complementary water, no daily room cleaning and the reception is always empty. No introduction about the hotel rules during our check-in. About the food I cannot say anything as I didn’t tried it even I had ordered the breakfast. Anyway as advice. If you want something you need to ask. But as I didn’t expect anything in advance I couldn’t get disappointed!😁 So I can only confirm the bad reviews I have read before!🤥…
We arrived late night but still they accommodate us. The room smells bad when we came in. The beddings is not nice. TV has been placed at the table and not attached to the wall. CR is never mind. I did not use it. There's a lot to improve on the hotel. You might try and see for yourself. Good luck.
The location is great, just on the beach on a quiet leg of the road, restaurants in the vicinity and some nightlife as well. But the property was damaged by the storm and partially restored. The restaurant is too expensive, the food less than average, the service mediocre in spite of the girls trying. The rooms are OK, aircon working. The overall package is rather expensive for the quality offered. Next door, a high quality hotel is being build, so it would make sense to restore to a better overall standard.....
Location: The hotel is by the beach. It was such a treat waking up knowing that you were just a few steps away from it. It is very near the airport less than 10 minutes. It is along the Baybay (shore), alongside the numerous Seafood and Bbq eateries in the province. Roxas being the seafood capital of the PH, you won't be disappointed with the nearby choices. Food: Breakfast does not come with the room booking (unless you booked from Agoda). The food is pricey and not really worth it. I suggest you take your meals from the numerous restaurants nearby. The alcohol is priced fairly and drinking by the beach is the best part. Rooms: We had to transfer room twice. First 2 rooms were not what we booked. Room 10's, the family room (One double bed, two single) aircon was not cooling up. Room 9, which was the economy room, spent one night there. Transferred the next day to Room 5 (deluxe room w/o ref). Rooms had and antique-y feel, as did the whole hotel. It hasn't been upgraded in a while but it does its purpose. Cable has many channels, though it was a struggle using the remotes on all rooms. Staff: The staff were very warm and kind. Couldn't ask for better service. Pro-tip: Couldn't find any contact numbers online when I was booking. Being the angel that I am here you go: (036) 621-2165 / 0908-1521418…
I booked my friends to stay for 4days 3nights last February, the room is okey, the beach view is priceless. Only things i notice the water pressure is so slow. May pee os much stronger, no free shampoo and soap. Also please update your website or even your Facebook account. This hotel has a potential.
This place is very peaceful and serene, we stayed for 2 nights here for a visit to Roxas City. The beach is not white sand, but is ok for a quick swim. However I just have one concern about our room. The bathroom has no exhaust! So, the air flows back to your aircoditioned room. Its ok if you are taking a bath, but if you're doing something else, its unpleasant smell. By the way, the seafoods restaurants are very near, only 5 minutes walk. Will stay here again if ever we go back to Roxas City. 😀
Spent two nights there, the room was clean & good air conditioning, lovely views of the bay especially having breakfast in the straw thatched huts, felt really good looking out to sea. Good location if you like sea food, there are two good fresh fish restaurants near by, very close to airport.
An amazing little Hotel, right on the beach well worth a visit but please remember this hotel suffered badly from the typhoon Yolanda so do not expect 5 star facilities. The rooms are basic with showers A/C and cable TV. The food is well cooked but again a basic kitchen so not Michelin status. It represents really good value for money at around 15 GBP per night. Staff all try their best to make you feel comfortable. If you are in Roxas give it a try but do not have high expectations of Luxury it is a basic but comfortable little hotel.
