This resort is amazing. Not only are the grounds and views spectacular, but the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our liaison Rain, took care of all our needs. The resort offers insights on what to see at the national park and provides a shuttle service to the west gate entrance. The food served is also amazing, although it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a few snacks for your room. The sunset dinner is delicious and highly recommend! If you are also leaving to the airport they will also provide shuttle service for a affordable fee. Truly a magnificent place to stay for a couple or with friends!

Absolutely lovely resort. Staff are super friendly, They offer a free shuttle to the park entrance which is 2 km away. The infinity pool is beautiful and the view is stunning. I would recommend the Chinese restaurant over the western restaurant. Communication is very good and they will also suggest itineraries for each day. Lovely people.

We had a great stay at the No. 5 valley inn. Frankie and others on staff were really helpful in arranging drives to and from the west gate and kindly provided helpful maps. The west gate of the park seemed much less busy and easier to navigate than the east gate. The hotel also helped us buy tickets for the gondolas up the mountain so that we didn’t have to wait in those lines. We were also upgraded to a beautiful room on the second floor of one of their villas. There is a beautiful walk you can take directly beside the hotel that leads you into a green valley with viewpoints. The hotel was also very accommodating in adapting dishes so that they were vegetarian.

Stayed 3 nights at No5 Valley Inn and can only recommend to experience this when visiting Zhangjiajie’ natural wonders. The location is just 5min away from one of the National Park entrances - less known and less crowded. The hotel is a set of different houses with different views. We stayed at room no 3 overlooking the heated infinity pool and had an amazing 270d view in to the valley (unbuild just nature) and the mountains - was like a movie with changing views every minute. Amazing ! The room very spacious and well set up makes one feel at home. We had dinner every evening at the Hotel and enjoyed the local vegetables all in property grown. Great taste of fresh bamboo shoots ! In addition very caring, attentive -and friendly attentionned Mr Rain and one of the Hotel managers/ owners made our stay a truely memorable experience. They have 2 pools (large) so for families this place is a must stay - worth its money !

Views and service make this property worth a stay. Its location is very close to the west gate of the park but a good hour from town and other attractions. Rain and the rest of the team were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The lodge is really 40 rooms of various shapes, sizes, and features. We stayed in the two bedroom suite with a nice living area and fireplace. Food was tasty, but without other nearby eateries, be prepared to eat the same thing for every meal (BYOCoffee). Limited beer selection as well. There are two pools, one heated with an unbelievable view that is the centerpiece of the lodge. There is a small bar that is open for a couple hours each night with KTV, which seems a little out of place, but that didn’t stop us from laying down few tracks. A room close to the bar would be loud. Overall, a remote, rustic-chic vibe. Would recommend.

What an amazing stay we had at the No. 5 Valley Lodge/Inn! My husband and I stayed for three nights over the Qingming festival. Our room had a gorgeous valley view overlooking the hotel-owned rice paddies. We had two floors with a bathroom and shower on each floor. Then, on the second-floor balcony, we had a beautiful outdoor bathtub. The entire room was gorgeous and well designed. The service at the hotel, from the time we called to book an airport shuttle to our checkout, was superb. Frankie in the reception was knowledgeable and friendly. Susan, one of the owners, was a delight! She helped my husband dig up fresh bamboo to take home and walked us around the grounds telling us about the history of the hotel and showing us other areas and rooms. The restaurant and food were delicious, and the infinity pool is breathtaking. We had an amazing experience and definitely recommend staying here to everyone!

Frankie was amazing and helped us plan our entire trip upon arrival. He made our trip go smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about anything and it was so helpful to have Frankie and some other staff who spoke English to help us during our stay. The facilities were clean and had so many amazing view points of the mountains. The heated pool and option to book the jacuzzi was great after a long day of hiking. The food was made to order and was made with fresh ingredients and they were also accommodating to my friend’s vegetarian diet. I would recommend this place to anyone who plans on visiting Zhangjiajie.

A true definition of beautiful hotel with an excellent location. Rain at the front desk is extremely helpful and friendly and perfect guide for the area around the hotel. I suggest you choose the suite for a perfect view of the valley. The room was very well furnished, romantic and spacious. All staff is the true definition of politeness and helpfulness. The breakfast experience around the swimming pool is beyond imagination. The hotel location is a little bit outside the main city. I suggest you request a driver to take you around the touristy hotel area. The Drive in and out is very pleasant and full of adventures. The Zhangjiajie national park is a must see. The glass bridge close by is unbelievable experience of the China Grand Canyon.

My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 days. This hotel has amazing views and is close to the west entrance of the Avatar mountain. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the KTV bar was fun. Rain and his staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. I will definitely revisit this place again.

After spending some time in Shanghai and Beijing for business, I traveled to the countryside, to see the Avatar Mountains at Zhanjiajie – absolutely stunning and worth the way! The pictures of the hotel looked very appealing, but the stay was even much better! If you ever have watched the youtube channel of 李子柒 Liziqi, you get a feeling of how peaceful this place really is. Everything looks very nostalgic. Natural materials like wood and bamboo shape the architectural design. It is simply beautiful. The food is made from their own farm, very delicious and beautiful presented, though it is spicy. You can actually walk through vegetable and rice fields. Everything here is home made. I was especially impressed by the good service. If you stay in a 5 star hotel, you can be sure, that the staff speaks English, but most people in China don't. And if you think about it, China is a big as America and Americans don't speak Chinese either. So don’t expect that! However, the people here are not even very patient, they use translator gadgets to make communication possible. They also do everything to make your stay comfortable. For instance, I could not turn on the heater, as everything was written in Chinese and my translation app didn't make any sense. They noticed, so they turned it off, during my day trips and turned it on, before I came back. They drive you to the bus station, from where you can take a 5 minute shuttle to the cable car. As I didn‘t had a Chinese SIM card at this point, they provided me with some kind of pager, to call the driver for my ride back. They also prepared dinner then. In three days you can see most of the impressive mountain scenery. I spend the whole day there and relaxed later in my gorgeous suit. They upgraded me, as it was off-season. The suite is stunning! Away from the other rooms for more privacy and with an awesome panorama view. You can take bath in your free standing bath tube and enjoy a beautiful mountain scenery. One of the best moments I ever had. It was also very clean and nice decorated. The super friendly and sincerely manager, who cared for me, gave me his WeChat in advance (行李整理好了,通知我拿). He organized everything I needed, as well as Airport transportation, which was also cheap. I always felt very supported. I can recommend this place a hundred percent. You will not regret!
