Without a doubt, staying at Homeward Mountain was/is our favourite place to date - and we've stayed at many places so far during our travels! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the property, the splendor of the surrounding area and the exceptionally warm and welcoming service. The peacefulness of the place, the serenity and calmness of the mountains nearby was simply perfect. Our room was on the ground floor, so directly touching the lovely infinity-like pool, so we felt like we were a part of the water. The rooms were beautiful - the TOILET is the best in China! Warm seat and bidets, yes please! And we pampered ourselves by having a long, luxurious bath in the semi-outdoor bath one night too. It was my husband's 40th birthday on the second night we stayed there, and I had pre-organised a cake for him as a surprise. They went over and beyond what I was expecting, decorating the floor with fairy lights, playing Happy Birthday in the background, singing him a song, giving him a beautiful gift and a bouquet of flowers and especially making him a cake made out of fruit (because we are both vegan)! It was incredibly heartwarming and such an incredible gesture - we were both humbled and extremely grateful. Their restaurant up a little stone road (about a minute walk from the property) was just as beautiful as the hotel, and the food was delicious! Our favourite dish was the eggplant, so definitely get that if you're eating there. Also, the shuttle service is extremely helpful and useful, and we get a free one way shuttle to the railway station (an hour away), so that was a bonus! Any little thing we asked, they were happy to help and they were all so enthusiastic and friendly, we will miss staying there! We definitely will stay there again if we are ever in Zhangjiajie again. Not enough stars to give to this place! 5+++++ :) Also, there was a friendly, gorgeous golden retriever who quickly befriended us when we gave it some love.

I chose this hotel for its isolated location at the foot of the mountains, we loved the vernacular architecture and the lovely ambiance. We felt the food could have been better, but it wasn’t bad. The best part of the hotel were the staff. We had a butler named Bubble. He saved my vacation! I forgot both my batteries and charger for my camera, he was able to get me a cable so I could recharge my camera battery every night, he arranged our trips, and was always very helpful. We loved the warm milk served to our room in the evening, very nice touch!

We visited this hotel for three nights in the middle of August. When we arrived the girls were already waiting for our arrival and were so kind to help us with our luggage. Very warm welcome and fast check in procedure. The lady from the check in even brought us to our room. WOW! SUCH A BEAUTIFUL ROOM! amazing view and very peaceful surrounding! The temperature of the pool is perfect and was very refreshing after a long day at the national park. The housekeeper was so eager to help us with language problems and tried to translate everything! Perfect stay. We will definitely come back again! Greetings from Austria!!

Thank you for your warm comments. The inn is located in the core scenic area of Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie, the west gate of the Forest Park. It is most suitable for tourists who like leisure, comfort, enjoyment and vacation. It is far away from queuing and noise and has close contact with nature. Easily handle Zhangjiajie's elite natural landscape. We look forward to seeing you again!

Homeward Mountain is located near the west gate of the national park, just up the road from a very small village, and around 3.5 km walk from a very small town. Of all the gates to the national park, this is probably the least developed, and thus, the most unspoiled. Because of its isolated location, I would advise you to bring some snacks, as you'll be hard-pressed to get much locally, and apart from the hotel resteraunt, there's nothing to eat. The hotel restaurant is excellent, and serves a wide range of very reasonably priced delicious home cooked Chinese food. Sadly, there is no desert menu, not even the offer of a paltry ice-cream or a fruit plate, so, as I said above, you may want to bring some candy or chocolate if you like the occasional treat. Otherwise, you can walk down to the town to pick up some fruit, or down to the little village to get an ice lolly. The views, and the pool, are spectacular. Every annoyance and irritation caused by this hotel was washed away when I swam in the pool or lay next to it on a lounger and looked up at the mountains. My primary issue with this hotel is with the rooms. They are profoundly small, and our bed was uncomfortable, especially after a few nights, after which we woke up with backaches due to the sagging mattress. However, the glaring issue with the rooms is the design, which sees the bath and shower effectively situated outside the room on the balcony, only partially enclosed by a glass screen and a curtain. Every wasp, hornet, and mosquito is thus able to enter the washing area, but struggles to exit. The water pressure on the main shower was a joke, and hot water was unreliable. The rooms also have no fridge or safe, which I believe should be standard in any hotel. The provision of drinking water was stingy, and we had to beg for permission to fill a larger receptacle with their water from downstairs eventually.

We visited zhanjiange in September.. it was cold and windy even during September. Our stay was in homeward resort...it is very far form airport. Almost 2 hours... we were charged 300 cny for one way transfer by hotel... its too high. They told us for flights before 10 pm they charge 200 cny and after 10 pm they charge 300 cny As its a very remote area. Hotel was beautifully located in mountains.. Awesome views... rooms are also cosy and spacious... you require minimum 3 days to explore Zhangjijie.. so good resort adds a topping to the beautiful experience.. however the staff can't understand English much.. they have to be explained in sign language a couple of times... no indian restaurants nearby and food is only chinese.. vegetarian people face tough time here.. pack ur food sufficiently..

Thank you for your comments. Since the establishment of the inn, many places are constantly improving. Thank you for your suggestions. We will strengthen the hardware and software facilities and improve the service quality. The local natives are very hospitable in the mountains. Simplicity may be expressed in different ways. The inn is located at the fjord of Qingfeng Gorge. Behind it lies the typical Fenglin mountain appearance of Zhangjiajie. In particular, the inn in Chu Qing is like a fairyland after rain. I look forward to your coming home next time.
