My husband and I have stayed in the OBX region for about a dozen times. This is our first stay in our RV with my FIL and our pups. So glad we found it... Ms. Pam, who owns the campground, is an amazing host. I was desperate for a RV spot on Friday of the Labor Day weekend and she was available to accommodate us (I had called 20+ other campgrounds and got SUPER LUCKY with her grounds). I thought we'd just stay through the long weekend, but after seeing the spot (located in the OBX, right off the sound, with its own beach access, and a short walk to the Atlantic) we asked if we could stay another week+. Luckily she was able to accommodated us! And our dogs! She even has a doggie grass area complete with potty-bags, and doesn't charge you extra for your furry friends. The speed limit is 5mph so you don't have to worry about your kiddos or pups being "left in the dust" or dealing with obnoxious drivers while they're playing/being walked. You can find the owner (Pam) riding her bicycle throughout the campground at all hours of the day or night if she's not in her office. The campground is more of a family setting... we met our "next door neighbors" in a matter of minutes. Everyone is incredibly friendly. She offers a men and women's bathhouse, laundry on site, free wifi, AND an outdoor shower to hose off after you visit the beaches. There is a picnic table, 30 amp/select 50 amp hookups with water and sewer for your RV. The folks in tents seem very happy as well. I'm not going to post the rates as they may fluctuate, but I can promise you they're lower than the other campgrounds you'll find anywhere else in the area (remember, I called over 2 dozen other sites). There's a dollar store just a few miles south of the campground. And a kayak/beach toy rental is just a few steps from the grounds. The sound access allows you fishing, swimming, sunbathing, kayaking- pretty much any water sport or activity you could think of. There are TONS of restaurants in the area, as well as the regular grocery, souvenir and RV necessity spot just North. If you have a couple minutes, Ms. Pam is a lovely lady to chat with. She obviously can let you know where to find anything you're looking for. She also is just incredibly friendly, and you might find yourself chatting away with her for several minutes. SOOOOOO..... if you're looking for a family-friendly, dog-friendly, people-friendly campground with very reasonable rates, that is incredibly clean and well-kept, I suggest you give her a call. I know this sounds like a padded review- so check out my other reviews from all over NY State and PA... I'm legit, LOL.…
