I should have called ahead, but didn't. My wife and I were in the area last week and thought a lunch at the Lodge would be a great idea. When we drove up to the Lodge the gate was open and cars were in the lot. What we didn't know at the time was the Lodge was closed for the...

We went for the New Year's celebration - welcoming reception, superb multi-course meal with wine pairings, dance with live band, New Year's champagne toast, brunch on Jan 1 and more. Not only was the meal outstanding, the staff attentive and friendly, and the setting lovely and interesting, staying in the lodge made us feel like a special guest in someone's...

After a beautiful drive from Bryson City, following along the shore of Fontana Lake and Cheoah Lake, we crossed at the base of the old dam and arrived at the lodge. Located alongside the edge of a mountain stream, we almost drove by the entrance. It's a very nice location, with the lodge and an old (non-functional) gas station along...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Tapoco Lodge. Falling asleep to the sounds of the Cheoah River is just magical. I'm so glad you had the chance to enjoy the sounds of our sweet mountains. We are happy to announce that in 2017 we will have internet service and a stronger cellphone signal for our...

We had a fabulous two days including their New Year's Celebration. Staff were very attentive. Cabins are upscale rustic. If you are seeking a typical chain hotel, this is not the place. If you want a restored historic lodge with character and even a resident coon hound, you will love it. We look forward to returning for other events.

This place is a must visit when in the North Carolina mountain. Felt like a home away from home. Clean spacious rooms, beautiful well kept property, great lobby. All for a great fair price. We would definitely recommend.

I just cannot say enough good things about Historic Tapoco Lodge! As soon as you see it off the road, it is like a wonderland. And since we were there at Christmas, it made it even more magical. We stayed in the white oak 2 cabin, which was perfect and cozy for just the two of us. The only drawback...

This lodge is beautiful. The food and drinks are great. The staff is warm friendly and helpful. Lots of great hikes nearby. It is farther out of town than some of the GPS think. Search for it by name not address.

We were on our way from NC to Tennesse around 12:30 pm. My husband glanced in the rear view mirror and said “I see a sign back there that advertises lunch. Shall we go back and check it out?” Turning around we noted the sign facing oncoming traffic from the north but invisible to those coming from the south. We...

While handing out information to bikers on the Dragon about suds4students.org, we found this hidden treasure just across the TN line in NC. We ate lunch there and a few weeks later I took our son there for lunch (pizza). You will not believe how good it is. Anyway, last weekend my wife and I stayed the weekend and it...

We fell in love with this place! Beautiful riverside dining and fire pits (season permitting), great dining options, gracious staff, welcoming great room with fireplace for relaxing, beautifully appointed rooms and baths, lots of hiking trails, great driving roads all around and a wonderfully comfortable mattress and sheets to cap off a perfect day! Plus, it was beautifully decorated for...
