Detailed Reviews
I stayed here after several hotel stays in Greensboro that were not that enjoyable since there seems to be a lot of shady people walking around those hotels at night. The Townhouse Inn is located right in the city of High Point but it has a roadside motel feel to it. It's a well-kept place. The only thing I didn't like was the only available rooms were on the 2nd floor, and the owner told me most of her 1st floor rooms weren't clean because she has trouble finding housekeepers. Well, why not make any rooms that are clean on the 1st floor so customers won't have to haul their stuff up the stairs? Sheesh, this is just common sense. My room was very clean and modern with everything working well (A/C and TV). However, the WiFi was kinda slow and in today's age there should be fast internet everywhere. Also, they have no ice machine so you have to go to the front desk to get some. Overall, it's a quiet hotel but there are things they can improve on for a better customer experience.

We normally don't stay in places this inexpensive, but the pictures looked ok, we were tired, and didn't see any reason to spend twice as much just to sleep.
The motel is right down town...not the best area, but not terrible either. The room was decent sized, clean, had a comfortable, king sized bed, an ok bathroom, and plenty of hot water. I slept pretty well, but apparently there were a lot of late check-in's and maybe a wedding party, so my wife thought it was noisy. She also thought the room had a smell...possible lingering from long ago cigarette smoke in the walls.
There is a modest continental breakfast with coffee, juice, muffins, cereal and do it yourself waffles.
It was obvious from the recent painting and a lot of fairly new looking stuff that the owners are trying to make the place as nice as they can. TV was ok, there was WIFI, but not a very good signal.

Excellent location in center of High Point. Room had strong odor when we first entered, but either it went away quickly or we got used to it. Room was clean and well maintained but had signs of age. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included make it yourself waffles, orange or cranberry juice, pastries, and was not crowded. We were only staying overnight for a business meeting the next day. Room rate was very reasonable and the accommodations were certainly acceptable. Bed was hard, but we enjoyed our stay. Free Wi-Fi and free parking were both welcomed extras!

A 3-night stay at this Econ Lodge was marred by the rude and unfriendly behaviour of the female owner; acted like she couldn't be bothered with having a guest. I was one of only a handful of guests at the time. Go figure -- so please, please don't bother this lady and go somewhere else. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to a friend!

I have stayed in thousands of hotel rooms in my lifetime, and unfortunately this ranked near the very bottom. On a positive note we had a great rate, but the service and facilities destroyed any notion of a quality stay or retaining any value of our great rate. The check-in was a laborious, lengthy process and the desk clerk was pleasant but just plodded through the job and then...
...room 206. It had been a long day and I was changing my clothing next to the chair by the door when, surprise, the door opened and there I was half-naked as a jaybird greeting the guests who were also assigned to room 206. The desk-clerk called to ask what rooms we had (there were three total), I confirmed and she asked if I was "sure about that?" That started our evening. Next my wife asked if I had used the bath towels, when I told her no, she showed me two that were dirty, like definitely had not been laundered dirty. Followed with the crusty goo on the TV remote. My wife was wearing her shoes with her pajamas because the carpet felt so gross. It may have been psychological at this point the sheets just felt dirty. The shampoo was only one-third full, but at least the soap was still packaged. Note we found the exhaust fan in the bathroom (after the fact), by pulling the chain in the middle of the vent. Maybe this is a new trend but the bed pillows are the size of throw pillows.
I did get feedback on another of our rooms where there were cigarette burns all over the place even on the ironing board(!) and the couple next door fought all night. Yes these were basic accommodations but I have stayed in $16 rooms which were better appointed and cleaner.
Fortunately, our daughter just graduated so it is doubtful we would ever have a need to stay here again.

We appreciate your review and have addressed the issues you noted. Your friends money could not be refunded as she stayed in the room the first night, left in the morning to return between 5 and 6 pm asking for a refund for that night. Check out time is 11 am and we regret a refund could not be made late afternoon. As to your other concerns, we did offer to change her room. We regret that we could not come to an agreeable solution. We would be happy to have you or your friend as a guest at anytime.

At check-in, we were asked if our reservation for a non-smoking room was correct. We said, "yes." When we opened the door to our room we were hit with the pungent smell of cigarette smoke right away. They did put us in a non-smoking room immediately without even apologizing for the mix up. The next day, while getting ready for a wedding (reason for our stay), it began to get real hot. I noticed that the air conditioner wasn't on anymore. I went up to the front desk to let them know that it wasn't working and they turned around and flipped a switch. Then said to me, "Oh, we didn't know anyone was in there." So, after that someone knocks on our door and asks us to move our truck and dolly because it doesn't line up right with the parking lines. First of all, no one else was staying at that hotel besides us and the parking lines weren't long enough for a compact sized vehicle let alone a truck with a dolly. Why would they give their only customers such bad service? Do they want to go out of business? The location is horrible unless you are there for the town's furniture fair. I think this is the worst hotel I've ever been to.

Hotel was very convenient to everything and easy to get to. The only problems were that we reserved a smoking room, so when we entered the room, it was really stale and stinky. We sprayed the carpet with carpet fresh and sprayed the room with lysol. There also had been no ice bucket liner or cups left, and the packet of coffee had been opened with no cups or creamer packets left. But, the continental breakfast in the lobby was WONDERFUL!! Fresh waffles with all the fixings, juice, great coffee with flavored creamers, cereals, pastries, etc...couldn't have ask for better! All in all, we had a very pleasant stay!
Thank you!
Thank you!

It is what it is..... it’s not fancy yet it gets the job done. I’ve stayed here 8 times for the furniture market and really love the convenience and the family that owns it are always working hard to make sure the stay is pleasant. It’s a value and I’ve never had a bad experience. If I needed anything, I called the owner and she took care of it. If you’re expecting the ritz, go to the ritz!

We came around 10:30 p.m. and the hotel was nearly full on a Saturday night. Since the hotel is in the middle of town, we were concerned about safety and noise level. We found the room to be clean, and including refrigerator and microwave. The king size bed was very comfortable. The shower was fine, except the head was positioned at about 5.5 feet from the shower floor - rather odd, especially for tall people!
We slept soundly and were not disturbed by any outside noises, and we didn't feel unsafe. The outside area is very well lit, and the facility seems to be managed well. I was especially impressed that the Internet access code was not easy to remember - a random string of eight numbers. Internet speed was adequate, but nothing to brag about (14 MBS download, 2 MBS upload). Breakfast was unusually good for a hotel at this price point (we paid $67.64 including taxes on a Saturday night using a AAA discount).
