I stayed here after several hotel stays in Greensboro that were not that enjoyable since there seems to be a lot of shady people walking around those hotels at night. The Townhouse Inn is located right in the city of High Point but it has a roadside motel feel to it. It's a well-kept place. The only thing I didn't like was the only available rooms were on the 2nd floor, and the owner told me most of her 1st floor rooms weren't clean because she has trouble finding housekeepers. Well, why not make any rooms that are clean on the 1st floor so customers won't have to haul their stuff up the stairs? Sheesh, this is just common sense. My room was very clean and modern with everything working well (A/C and TV). However, the WiFi was kinda slow and in today's age there should be fast internet everywhere. Also, they have no ice machine so you have to go to the front desk to get some. Overall, it's a quiet hotel but there are things they can improve on for a better customer experience.…
I have stayed in thousands of hotel rooms in my lifetime, and unfortunately this ranked near the very bottom. On a positive note we had a great rate, but the service and facilities destroyed any notion of a quality stay or retaining any value of our great rate. The check-in was a laborious, lengthy process and the desk clerk was pleasant but just plodded through the job and then... ...room 206. It had been a long day and I was changing my clothing next to the chair by the door when, surprise, the door opened and there I was half-naked as a jaybird greeting the guests who were also assigned to room 206. The desk-clerk called to ask what rooms we had (there were three total), I confirmed and she asked if I was "sure about that?" That started our evening. Next my wife asked if I had used the bath towels, when I told her no, she showed me two that were dirty, like definitely had not been laundered dirty. Followed with the crusty goo on the TV remote. My wife was wearing her shoes with her pajamas because the carpet felt so gross. It may have been psychological at this point the sheets just felt dirty. The shampoo was only one-third full, but at least the soap was still packaged. Note we found the exhaust fan in the bathroom (after the fact), by pulling the chain in the middle of the vent. Maybe this is a new trend but the bed pillows are the size of throw pillows. I did get feedback on another of our rooms where there were cigarette burns all over the place even on the ironing board(!) and the couple next door fought all night. Yes these were basic accommodations but I have stayed in $16 rooms which were better appointed and cleaner. Fortunately, our daughter just graduated so it is doubtful we would ever have a need to stay here again.…
It is what it is..... it’s not fancy yet it gets the job done. I’ve stayed here 8 times for the furniture market and really love the convenience and the family that owns it are always working hard to make sure the stay is pleasant. It’s a value and I’ve never had a bad experience. If I needed anything, I called the owner and she took care of it. If you’re expecting the ritz, go to the ritz!
We came around 10:30 p.m. and the hotel was nearly full on a Saturday night. Since the hotel is in the middle of town, we were concerned about safety and noise level. We found the room to be clean, and including refrigerator and microwave. The king size bed was very comfortable. The shower was fine, except the head was positioned at about 5.5 feet from the shower floor - rather odd, especially for tall people! We slept soundly and were not disturbed by any outside noises, and we didn't feel unsafe. The outside area is very well lit, and the facility seems to be managed well. I was especially impressed that the Internet access code was not easy to remember - a random string of eight numbers. Internet speed was adequate, but nothing to brag about (14 MBS download, 2 MBS upload). Breakfast was unusually good for a hotel at this price point (we paid $67.64 including taxes on a Saturday night using a AAA discount).…
We found this place while looking for a break during our recent drive from The Cleveland area to Myrtle Beach. Our GPS got us there, but getting to the entrance required a few extra turns. The staff was very attentive and provided good restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and comfortable. The morning staff was equally great. The continental breakfast was adequate. We would definitely stay there again if the need for a break arises.
Privately owned hotel is definitely worth the money. He has all premium channels. I was told there is a continental breakfast but I left too early to attend. Only complaint is that the a/c was very noisy and it seemed to not really get cold in the room. I would definitely go again.
The negative experience i had was turned into positive because of management. I sent an email from the website stating the issue and the problem was solved and resolved in 24 hours. I thank the management for the quick response. The other positives were the bed and the TV stations.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stop for the night while traveling to Charleston, SC. We opted for Townhouse Inn due to not wanting to spend too much for a place just to sleep for the night. We were pleasantly surprised with the condition of the room. It was clean and fairly updated. We would stay again if stopping in High Point.
Let me start by stateing that i asked for a non smoking three diffetent times i questioned them about this due to past experiences elsewhere. I walked in the roim and immediantly was slapped in the face by this old stinch of cig. Smoke. So i went to the front desk was given a hard time about getting a second room so i asked for my money back mind u i had only had my key no longer than 3 minutes or so and was told i could not get a refund because i had already walked in the hotel. I was one of maybe three guest and one of which was at the front desk as well complaining of the skimpy towels with holes in them and a big dark brown smudge on one of them "saw this for myself the guest was highly upset with this" anyways i made due with my room as i hadno choice so i go to take a shower to find a corner of a condom rapper behind the toilet and a ball of hair. Could not get the heat to work so went again to thos front desk and the guy was rude about cutting the switch on. And three different times in one night it kept getting very cold so i again went to the front desk to have him tell me the breaker keeps cutting it off "i did not believe him" i think he was finding it hallarious to be honest. So next morning i ask to skeak with a manager and was greated by the owner and let me tell you something about this women...she is the most disrespectful non educated buisness individual i have ever met in my life. She told me she did not give a damn how i felt after we had some words about how disrespectful her staff was and about the rooms. I now understand why there was only two or three people there. And to top it off as i was leaving the housekeeper as i walked back in my room apparently saw me go to the front desk was in my room when i returned cleaning the room at 925 in the morning and the next day my credit cards and debit card all four had several purchases made from jet.com. i did however find out a month later after the investigation was over that it was her and did press charges the trial begins in two weeks from today. I do not recomment a soul to this hotel on there worse broke day.…
Excellent location in center of High Point. Room had strong odor when we first entered, but either it went away quickly or we got used to it. Room was clean and well maintained but had signs of age. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included make it yourself waffles, orange or cranberry juice, pastries, and was not crowded. We were only staying overnight for a business meeting the next day. Room rate was very reasonable and the accommodations were certainly acceptable. Bed was hard, but we enjoyed our stay. Free Wi-Fi and free parking were both welcomed extras!
