I stayed one night at the breakwater inn along with a few other parties. We were all going on a fishing boat in the morning. The breakwater is in walking distance of the dock, souvenir shop, and restaurants. Although the rooms are a bit outdated...More
It’s been 10 years since I’ve been to the Breakwall, and it was as incredible as I remember it. Get the scallops Al Greco. Delightful. We took a party of seven, and everything from the first bite to the last was delicious.
All about location. This hotel is right in Hatteras. It is conveniently located if your going to be in Town. There are restaurants, beaches and shopping nearby. The rooms are clean and you will have a view of the marina on the sound. Overall fair...More

We have 1 brick building and 1 wood building. We do not have special room rates prior to a hurricane. If there is a mandatory evacuation we will not be able to rent rooms. We strongly discourage visitors until the hurricane passes. Most of our weekend guests have already cancelled and we will contact the rest. There is only one road on and off the island and it is very vulnerable to ocean and sound side flooding. Ocracoke Island, just south of us, is under mandatory evacuation for ALL residents as of 5 AM this morning..
