We spent one night at the Blooming Garden Inn on the recommendation of a relative who lives in the Raleigh-Durham area because it was convenient to Duke Memorial United Methodist Church, at which we were to attend a memorial service. The owners, Frank and Dolly, almost made us forget the sad occasion that brought us to Durham. Their company and...

Just stopped for a night after visiting nearby and wanted to stay somewhere close to the centre so that I could explore Durham. Recovering residential area three blocks from city hall, so I could walk down to the Bull City Burger and Brewery that evening. The Inn is full of bric a brac that might put off visitors who want...

While travelling through the area we happened upon the Blooming Garden Inn. We had read many wonderful reviews and a few that described the area as 'sketchy'. We were delighted to find the Bed and Breakfast in a wonderful area of downtown Durham, the house was a lovingly kept older home, spotlessly clean and comfortable, and decorated with Dolly's artistic...

This was an experience to tell not only our children about but as well our grandchildren. My wife has longed to experience a bed & breakfast. Needless to say, she was not disappointed! It seems that she and Mrs. Dolly had quite the niche in common. Frank went above and beyond to satisfy the needs of their guests. To him...

This is located close to downtown in according to the innkeeper/proprietor "A recovering neigborhood," The old Victorian is charming, however it is furnished with wall-to-wall knick knacks and antiques of every variety from every era collected by the elderly retired Yale professor who taught something I believe he called "psychological sociology" in Africa. Guests can expect to be greeted and...

I spent a week at the Blooming Garden Inn. I was in Durham for business and was so glad that our "corporate hotel" was fully booked. I stayed in the Moroccan room which is beautifully decorated and well maintained. Breakfast was wonderful - eggs, omelets, pancakes, fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits, piping hot coffee and freshly baked bread. In the...

Frank and Dolly are the best! They make you feel like family! Beautiful yard and porches. Bedrooms are very nice and very clean! These people feel like you have known them for years. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The rooms are spacious and bright. Very quiet and the beds are very comfy.

We have had the great privilege of staying here before in December 2013. This year, due to a family member's failing health, we had to relocate our Wedding from Philadelphia to Durham in May. Most fortunately the Blooming Garden Inn was available for our ceremony. Frank and Dolly were so helpful. We could not have done it without them! This...
