Giving this 5 stars - but understand the situation. Staying at the Outer Banks in the extreme off-season means no crowds, no traffic, but greatly reduced activities. Barrier Island Station - Duck was fantastically quiet and low-maintenance weekend get-away. Yes, the rooms are slightly dated but the unit was clean and well-maintained. The indoor pool gave us something active to...

I was not pleased with the condition of our unit, it was very small and VERY dated, there was trim missing, a cracked soap holder, that could easily have cut someone very badly, the grounds off the back deck were extremely overgrown. We seemed to be in one of the older units but it still should have been better kept....

I own a timeshare and exchanged into this resort. The new exterior renovations are very nice, they are still on going as well as repairing fence from Mathew none of this effects your stay. We had a two bedroom in 400 building. New decks, top floor, sleeps 8 with room to spare. Beach is on property, pool is beautiful. Unit...

. Would have hoped to see the ocean but the resort is so large everyone cannot have a view. We were 6 Senior adults who requested a first floor accommodation. There is no elevator. We booked months ahead, thank goodness. Even then each unit has steps inside. It was clean. We had adjoining units with pullout bed for 2 of...

The units were still being renovated eventhough it was to have been completed by the beginning of November. With the porch doors open the construction hammering of porches was from 7-7..and siding and more porches to go. The indoor pool was warm and well maintained, even after a power surge cut off the heater and pump..it was back running within...

Great view. Our building appeared to be the highest elevation in Duck --could see both the Atlantic Ocean and Currick Sound at the same time, and the sun rise and set over the former and latter. We did experience a leak in the dinning room when it rained.

We stayed at Barrier Island Station Duck Oct 22-29, 2016. This was our first and last time staying here. We were surprised when we checked in at the Visitor’s Center; the building is in dire need of updating and repairs, exterior paint chipping off in large areas, old worn out carpet and décor, interior had a musty smell. As we...

Perfect location to visit the beach since the resort is on the beach. Indoor and outdoor pool was nice as well as the beach. The check in and check out was quick and easy. We went in October which is off season so no crowds. I would/will stay here again.

The room was dated but it was clean. They have a large pool. They had their own beach access which was very nice. And having a full kitchen and washer and dryer is a huge bonus. All in all this is a great place to stay. We didn't have any issues with our room. We would definitely stay here again...

We booked a week in Oct 2016, Just before Hurricane Matthew hit the shores. The weather was fine and the Ocean water was warm. We had a one bedroom looking out to the pool area and the Ocean. The room was spacious with Bar, living room and dinning room. They even have a washer and dryer in the Hall. The...
