Very busy time of year and they were nearly fully booked when I tried to locate a room. Found a small queen room which was impeccably clean and attractive. The grounds were well maintained and plenty of places to stroll quietly. Our stay was a quick overnight on our way home from a wedding. Breakfast buffet was average. Many restaurants...

While the Duke mansion is impressive enough, the surrounding gardens make the visit worthwhile. Even in December roses, anemones and camelias (and more) do credit to the house & garden staff. On the accommodation front, we had a large and comfortable room -- a bit sparsely furnished (another chair would have been nice, for two people). Breakfast was admirable --...

we spent 4 nights at Duke mansion. The property is lovely, amidst tall majestic trees that are so abundant in Charlotte. Our room was spacious and comfortable and so meticulously clean, one of the cleanest hotel rooms and bathrooms I have stayed at. Most of the profits are spent in restoring the mansion, with its 20 sleeping rooms and large...

This is a must for a visit to Charlotte. We usually stay at a Marriott property, but we treated ourselves to a stay at the Duke Mansion on a recent trip. So glad we did! This historic property is simply beautiful and restored to its original grander. It's like something out of The Great Gatsby. The mansion and grounds are...

Hurricane Matthew changed our travel plans and we needed to stay one night and I found this last minute and we were not sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived at 4pm and upon being told we would be on the road the next morning by 6.30 because of the time difference, they offered breakfast which was...

Small company meeting held here with several of the team members spending the night. The meeting room was comfortable and the food service was excellent. My room was a true "classic" and I felt completely comfortable and at home. The rooms aren't fancy but the service is great and the facilities and gardens are very special. I truly enjoyed walking...

A beautiful old mansion that makes you feel like Scarlett O'Hara will be around the next Corner. Nicely renovated very spacious rooms (most Hotels would call Junior suites) overlooking a beatiful garden within the nicest neighborhood of old Charleston. Taking a stroll in the morning looking at the houses was fantastic. Breakfast was a bit Basic but ton of fresh...

We rolled into town for an overnight stay on a cross country road rally with our car club to find that the power had been knocked out at the Duke Mansion the day before. They said we could stay without power or wifi, but that they would transfer us to another hotel at a discounted rate if we wanted. We...

From the moment I called to make a reservation I had nothing but a 5 star experience. Anytime I encounter the staff they were exceptional, polite and called my husband and I by name. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured with many little places to sit off by yourself. Big inviting porch with rockers. The inside was breathtaking. With...
