Staff was not personable at all. He checked me in and pointed me in the right direction and went back on his phone. Went to my room to find out that there were guests already in there. Went back to the front desk and the front desk man didn't even apologize for the mix up. Room is average. Smells like... More

Amber, Thank you so much for your feedback. Please allow me to apologize for the mixup during checkin with the front desk and most of all that our evening manager was apathetic to the issue. This is certainly not a normal for the hotel or for him. I sincerely hope that you will give us a chance to make this... More

Nothing fancy. Reasonably clean. Very close to Franklin Street. Starbucks and Trader Joe's a 2 minute walk. Overall I am quite satisfied - I am writing my review while still here. Two things.... My iPad would not hook up to their free internet even though my iPad said I was connected, so I used my MiFi. And we were told... More

We had such a great stay at Chapel Hill University Inn. We were in town for a wedding and had a few days to spend in an unfamiliar city. Tony was extremely helpful and recommended great restaurant and shopping choices for our trip. The hotel was extremely clean and our room felt like a home away from home. We will... More

This was my first stay at the University Inn. I absolutely loved the Carolina themed inn. It's such a wonderful lobby to walk into when you are coming back home to Chapel Hill-the fight song playing as you exit was a nice touch on game day! The hotel exudes the Carolina Spirirt! We frequently stay at the University Inn when we come to see the Heels play basketball. It's a great location near the Smith Center. The king bed is comfortable, and our room had a refrigerator and microwave. We didn't use them, but it's nice they were available.

I've stayed in many hotels this was by far the worst. Dirty, smelly, homeless people hanging out on the stairway. I literally couldn't sleep because of the grossness. Walls yellow and paint chipping of the ceilings. Waste of 150 dollars. Please do not waste your money.
