We stayed a Friday and Saturday night over Memorial Day weekend. The room was attached to the main building on the 2nd floor and was non-smoking but the ashtrays outside on the tables on the walkway were in constant use so we had some smoking annoyance. We had requested a downstairs unit but were given an upstairs. The room was...

While we're happy you enjoyed amenities such as the pool, it's disappointing to hear you felt inconvenienced at times. In the future, please let us know if there's anything we can do -- we'd always prefer to fix things in the moment to ensure you have an amazing time with us. All the best, Angie & Bill R.- Owners

I booked this place thru BringFido.com; never been to the Outer Banks, read review, looked at photos, and went for it. This place exceeded my expectations! Great staff, wonderful rooms, and the whole place was charming. Lots of attention to detail. My dog loved it too. Very close to many things to do. I will be booking there again and...

I visited this hotel several years ago in the off season (February 2008) while I was in RTP for two consecutive weeks of work. I wanted to be right near the Hatteras lighthouse (one of my favorite places), so I could be at the lighthouse for both sunset and sunrise. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room,...

In the spirit of full disclosure -- we can't stand smokers. We probably should have turned around when we approached our room along an outdoor bank of No Smoking rooms on the first floor and smelled nothing but smoke (coming from the bank of rooms on the second floor). But nooooo. Consequently, we had to keep our windows closed at...

We're sorry to hear another guest's habit interfered with your stay. In the future, please let us know if someone is smoking in a Non-Smoking room -- we'll want to take care of that right away. That said, we're glad you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us. Hope we'll see you back again soon. All the best, Angie...

Rooms 11 and 12 are the best. Room 11 has a couch and a nice kitchenette. Room 12 is even better, with a full kitchen, fully equipped, and a back door that leads to the dog park and the gate to Grays Garden and gift shop, They have several grills on the property, gassed up and ready to use. A...

I'm always a little leery booking at a non-chain hotel for many reasons. I took a chance, based upon tripadvisor reviews of this motel. I stayed for one week during bike week. This motel is a terrific value. The room was very clean, well-appointed, and well-maintained by the daily housekeeping service. While the sheets were not changed, the bed was...

We spent only one night in this motel and enjoyed it very much. It is an older place that was probably built in the late 1950's but it was very clean and well maintained and unlike most of the franchise motels now is family owned and operated. The owners were very friendly and helpful and very pleasant to be around...

My wife and I travel allot and usually have pretty much the same opinion of places, but that was not the case here. This motel is like a step back in time, it reminded me of SO many small family owned and run motels that existed before the chains came in. It is like a step back into the 70's...
