We enjoyed our stay and our room was clean and quiet. Management/Owners very friendly and helpful. I left my fishing rods in parking lot (not my finest moment) and owners went out of their way to figure out the rods were mine, reach out, and then ship them to me. Will stay again next time I visit. Thanks, Willy
Our family stayed for a week at the last minute in July. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and functional. Location is convenient to the entire lower part of Hatteras Island. This is not a luxury hotel, but if you are looking for a friendly, reasonably priced, convenient location on HI, then look no further. This is the spot!
Cape Pines has become my new go-to for starting my annual stay in Hatteras. I stay here for a couple days before my rental home becomes open on Sunday. Each time I have stayed here, the motel is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. As if driving by the beautiful dunes did not say "You're at the beach" enough, you are welcomed in the lobby by a beachy-themed, pet friendly lobby. Their friendly staff that makes you feel welcome and is eager to accommodate. Both times I have stayed here, the rooms have been exceptionally clean and look freshly renovated. They have a clean look and smell, and talking to the owners, they pride themselves on staying up to date with the latest in cleaning protocol due to COVID. All the usual amenities are present and functional (desk, internet, coffee maker, refrigerator, and such.) The room had plenty of sun if you wanted it, or plenty of privacy if you didn't. If pets are allowed at the hotel you would not know it. It seems they have separate sections for pet owners and non-owners. While I didn't bring a pet myself, the dog walk area was very nice. There is a fish-cleaning station that doubled for me as a place to rinse off my kite equipment, and it was clean and tidy. I always bring my jet ski, and they have a nice, convenient place to park it that the staff was eager to show me and help me with. It was easy to turn around on the not-so-busy street and park securely. This place is a great value for the money, clean, friendly, and accommodating. The owners really care about the quality of your stay and are eager to help with anything you need. It's all you can ask for to have a great OBX vacation at the beach!…
We were stranded on Hatteras Island with 2 large dogs. We were able to land a pet friendly room in this motel. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The next evening when we could not get off the island again the were able to get a King efficacy which had a nice size mini fridge, large microwave, two stove burners and small kitchen sink, with plenty of cups and dishes and such and full coffee pot. Again was comfortable and clean and perfect for our needs and were we ended up for the next 2 nights until the road opened. They have washer and dryer available (for a fee) on the premises. Also had an pool we didn't use but looked nice. Offered a nice area to walk your dogs with baggies available. They also have grills for their guests. Everything in Buxton is really close Conners (grocery) is a walk across the street. I would definitely recommend this motel.…
We come two days early before getting cottage to avoid traffic. This is a very clean and well located hotel. Due to Covid there are no blankets but we were informed before so we’re prepared. There is also no maid service which is fine. You can ask for clean towels but we chose not to to avoid someone entering room. Do wish there had been more than two bath towels, one hand towel and two wash cloths. The room was fine- and quiet. We will come again. Close to Connors for food! Did not use pool but it looked nice. Tried to take room pano but failed!
Great place for families with large and small dogs. Clean and comfortable w/no frills. Our room was considered a suite with 2 bedrooms w/wall air conditioners. Small kitchen with a small table is functional. Wi fi was terrific. Pool was an added benefit w/warm temperatures nice chairs and tables. Open 1000 to 9pm. Hotel is managed by a nice family who takes their job and guest feedback seriously. Guests were very friendly. Dog park in the back was a plus for our 2 German shepherds. Only critique was lack of working gas grills which the leadership is aware Of and buying new ones. We ll be back next year.
Rooms were clean crisp sheets but because of covid you had to bring own blankets and no room service Pool was nice but loud right on mainstreet The 2nd floor had no insulation so it was like elephants on the ceiling 5 nights of summer saults We spoke to people did no good Mgr didn't either take care of pronlem So if you want peace and quit ask for bungalow with no top floor
This has been our go to place for a beach jaunt with our fur babies for years. As my other reviews have stated— it’s not fancy but clean, comfortable and spacious. Love the heart of pine floors and walls! Each room is decorated to maximize space. Price point is fair. The pool has been redone. The enclosed dog yard a definite plus! That said— this is where I notice the difference the most. Gate latches are now no longer seamless but have become rusty and difficult to latch or are no longer aligned. Fencing is dilapidated and there are now possible escape routes by neighboring shed. Brush has been completely removed allowing the yard to be filled with neighbor cat fecal matter( hard to control I know), horseshoe pits have been destroyed and since there is only one trash can by one gate— it seems guests using other access points are too lazy to pick up after their dogs. Rude! The central location is perfect for a secluded OBX experience.…
Just stayed here for three days. The clean room was a relief with COVID-19. Refrigerator, spacious, clean, location and price were all very good. Just across the street from a small town grocery store Conners.
Great location and stay at the impromptu booking that we did in the outer banks / cape Hatteras area. The staff and owners are courteous and accommodating and guided us to the area locations as well as connected us with the local facebook group for events. Rooms are well priced and the motel has a great nespresso machine that is out of the world. It is close to everything and the supermarket (Conners) across the street has truly everything you can find in the larger supermarkets. The lighthouse is about a mile away and its a great walk on a good day. The motel is also near the ferry station (about 5 miles) and local art shops and attractions Loved every minute of our stay and would go again!
