Beautiful inn and grounds. Toni was a wonderful hostess. Our room and bath were appropriately sized and furnished. The bathroom had soaps, hair dryer, etc. just as expected. Toni was careful about wearing a mask, appropriately distancing guests for breakfast, and providing hand sanitizer. The inn is located close to town and to Deep Creek. I highly recommend the Folkestone Inn!

After reading really good reviews about the Folkestone Inn we booked a one week stay in early Nov. The location of the Folkestone Is perfect for hiking in the National Park, easy access to some of the best hiking trails. Also, close to the charming town of Bryson City. Toni and Scott are gracious hosts with Scott spoiling us each morning with the most delicious and filling breakfasts. Scott cures his own bacon and ham, also makes his own pork sausage. Their flock of chickens provided the eggs! The peaceful setting of the Folkestone and it's rustic charm made our stay that much more relaxing. Toiletries are provided with the exception of body lotion.

We spent 2 nights at the Folkestone Inn. It’s a beautiful home on a gorgeous property. It is so close to the Deep Creek entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are 3 beautiful waterfalls to see at that point.
But let me begin with the food!! Our breakfasts were soooo good—fresh fruit, waffles, biscuits with sausage gravy, scrambled eggs (fresh eggs from the chickens on the property!) house-made bacon, juice and coffee, served at 9:00. Coffee was ready about 8:30 so we sat in a room next to the dining area and talked with the other couples staying at the Inn—discussed what we did yesterday, what’s the plan for today, what should we see or avoid, etc. It was a great way to start the day!
Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless, We even had a little balcony with 2 chairs where we had a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Toni and Scott made us feel very welcome. There is a refrigerator to share if you needed it, microwave popcorn available, and homemade cookies in the late afternoon. Their front porch is welcoming, also.
I hope we can come back again!

Where to begin? First, Scott and Toni were amazing hosts, as you do not want for anything while at the Folkestone. From the fresh scratch made breads and cookies, farm fresh eggs, & house cured/smoked bacon, it is very apparent that they both take great pride in what they do. Even the toughest food critic will be delighted by their daily offerings. Toni, an effortless conversationalist, and Scott, a professionally trained chef, work in complete harmony to make each guest feel truly welcomed! They are both true stewards of their community as they offered some great suggestions on everything from good fishing spots, great dining options for lunch and dinner, and even a good spot for a tasty beverage or two to end the days adventures. Or you have the option of coming back to the Inn for some time around their fire pit. All wood and fire starting materials are provided to keep you nice and toasty as you enjoy pleasant conversations or take some time to gaze at the stars and reflect on your day.

They also take great care to provide a clean and sanitary environment that makes you and your friends/family feel safe during your stay. The room was immaculate and nice little touches were well placed to make you feel right at home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and provided a nice place of respite to recharge for the next day.

Thank you Toni & Scott for everything. We plan on returning in the summer to enjoy more delicious food, stimulating conversations, and hopefully another trout or two from the clear mountain waters!!

My husband and I just spent 7 nights at the Folkestone Inn, using it as home base for exploring the Smoky Mountains NP. The location proved to be perfect for this, as it was away from the most congested areas of the park, but within a reasonable drive to everywhere we wanted to go. We stayed in the Wrens and Warblers room, and enjoyed its charming decor and balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds. Toni was so helpful, with her direct and candid suggestions regarding where to go and what to see. Scott's breakfasts were scrumptious and creative, fortifying us each morning for our busy days ahead. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Folkestone. Toni and Scott are more than great chefs, they are warm people who are interested in making your stay delightful. The Inn is in a great location just north of downtown Bryson City where you can start a day of adventures at nearby Deep Creek, one of the best locations to explore inside Great Smokey Mountains NP. There are comfortable chairs throughout the common areas and plenty of local reading material and games available. While the Inn is unique and well maintained, the hospitality of Toni and Scott made Folkestone one of the best Inns we have ever enjoyed.

The breakfast was so good, that alone is a reason to visit Bryson City. The Folkestone B&B is a quaint historical inn with free range chickens wandering, a sweet cat sleeping on the porch and wild turkeys in the field. There is a game room and popcorn and cold water in the frig. We had a lovely time playing scrabble. But honestly, the breakfast was not just good pancakes, it was a culinary feast. First, we told the hosts that we didn’t like eggs and they accommodated us beautifully.

Day one we had a corn cake, sautéed spinach and vegetables with a tomatoe, red onion and cilantro salsa. Accompanied with ‘housemade’ ham. It was to die for. We also had fruit and a blueberry muffin. The flavors melded amazingly.

Day two, lemon soufflé pancakes with blueberry compote and housemade bacon with fruit covered in yogurt and housemade granola and local honey. The pancakes were just enough lemon. The flavors!!!

I can’t quit thinking about it it was so good. The hosts are friendly and lovely and we had a great time.

From the moment you drive up to the inn, you are enveloped with a sense of peace and serenity. From the softly clucking chickens and the babbling brook, to the cows and horses grazing on the hillside, it is like stepping back in time. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, the hosts friendly and informative, and you cannot get a better breakfast for at least 100 miles around. And if it is adventure you want, it is only minutes away with hiking trails, zip lines, tubing and whitewater rafting.

This was our first bed and breakfast experience and Folkestone Inn has set the bar very high! We stumbled across this charming B &B while searching last minute for somewhere to stay on a busy Labor Day weekend. We were fortunate to be able to book the last room available which we later learned was a cancellation. We arrived in the last few minutes of the “check-in” window, and Toni (owner) still took the extra time needed to welcome us and show us around.

We stayed in the Wrens & Warblers room which is an upstairs corner room with a king bed and balcony. Our room, although smaller than a hotel room, still had ample space for our bags and for overall comfort. The bathroom was larger than expected which was a nice surprise. The room also had an individual temperature control and a ceiling fan which was much appreciated. There was also a nice closet and robes for our use. The electric fireplace in the room was a nice touch, although we didn’t use it because it was warm outside.

The pièce de résistance is the breakfasts served each morning. The food is extremely fresh, much sourced from their property. The food is painstakingly prepared with care and attention by Scott and Toni. The creative combinations that are served are reminiscent of 5 star dining. Toni offered excellent service through breakfast and took time to offer tips for our daily activities.

We are still traveling home from our visit and we are already planning a return. We highly recommend the Folkestone Inn!
