I spent the weekend with my girlfriend at the Monte Vista a couple weeks ago and it was perfect! First off, the restaurant downstairs had an amazing chef and the tuna steak I ordered was the best I've ever had. Also, the hotel is right downtown, so you can walk into town with all kinds of neat places to check...

Anticipated a quaint, cozy hotel with warm mountain comfort. The 1st room we were shown was more like a jail cell! iron bed, no chairs or TV to relax, when we requested a different room we were advised by a snippy condescending front desk clerk the rooms in Ashville would be twice the price and that other hotels in the...

Hi Lorraine, We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We do our best to provide an accurate and honest portrayal of our amenities and property through our website and online booking partners. Unfortunately, since you booked a room on a busy weekend shortly before arriving, we had only a few rooms available, all in our 1937 section, which...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights while visiting Biltmore Estate. Conveniently located outside Ashville in a quaint mountain village. If you go make sure you stay in main house, not annex and are also able to handle climbing stairs. Annex rooms are tiny and not at all cozy nor comfortable..also wing was partially below ground with tiny narrow...

We found this little gem on the internet. We wanted to stay somewhere for our anniversary that wasn't the run-of-the-mill hotel or a super pricey b&b. We absolutely loved the atmosphere. Walking up the front porch as people sat in rocking chairs enjoying a cup of coffee and into front door of the hotel was so inviting. The people were...

Lovely hotel. Modern, clean but quaint. Continental breakfast was very nice. AND had a great bar at the end of the day! Staff was very professional. We walked to restaurants in the area. Will definitely stay again

If you want to stay away from the chain hotels, this hotel in Black Mountain near Asheville NC is well worth considering. We booked it on Hotels.com. The village is full of eclectic shops, cafes, restaurants. The hotel does have a restaurant and bar but we did not have dinner there. Continental breakfast was adequate. WiFi connection was excellent. The...

My family of 5 stayed here in mid September 2015. We drove straight over from the Outer Banks on a Saturday morning and got there about early evening. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to any special requests. The Double 1937 Queen room we were in was simple and elegant. Fritz Taproom my wife and I were able to...

Having stayed in endless chains it was refreshing to stay somewhere a little different. it wasn't cheap, and the room was basic- no TV coffee making facilities etc. But the location was terrific, decor great and relaxing on the porch a tonic. Great home cooked baked products in the morning. The evening live music was a bit cheesy but there...

The Hotel is quite charming and relaxed. The walls in the lobby, restaurant and halls, are filled with interesting art, most for sale. The building is U shaped and has a lovely back patio where dinner is served as well. Go early, we were too late to get dinner there at 8pm. There are a few common areas to relax...

We had a wonderful stay at this historical charming hotel. The location is perfect and walkable to downtown which has a lot of very quaint shops. The owners were very accommodating and went well out of their way to be helpful and make our stay a great time. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in town!

Thank Cindy S
