My husband and I just had a delightful Sunday brunch at the Palate Restaurant in the Monte Vista Hotel. We were warmly greeted by Ashley, who is the events manager there. We love the elegant but casual dining atmosphere. From the delicious cup of coffee to the awesome food, it was a great experience. I tried the special one biscuit...

The red carpet was certainly rolled out for my visit. Staff; from housekeeping to owners (and all in between,) were friendly and helpful. Accommodations very comfortable. Dinner in the dining room was superb. (Thank you, Chef Anthony!) Wine choice assisted by Amy from the bar - perfect to compliment the meal and make it pop! Definitely don't expect a cookie-cutter...

Staff was not very friendly or helpful in assisting with room amenities listed on the hotel website. One of those being wifi. Additionally, the rooms were very cold with no temperature control available in the room. The hotel has a cat which is a problem since I am allergic to cats. This is not listed on their website! I would...

Nice hotel in beauriful Black Mountain. The rooms were a bit high ( $200 ) for a very small room with only one chair and one lamp, no tv, NICE BATHROOM ! In the breakfast dining room, the radio in the kitchen was blaring so loud. A staff member was heard telling the kitchen staff to turn it down, but...

Room had a very strong perfume odor. I am sensitive to smells and within an hour had a migraine and asthma due to the strong smell. Room was fine and neat but the strong room freshener spray was too much. Would not choose this hotel again.

So, went for Sunday brunch with family today. First, brunch menu is available all day, secondary lunch menu doesn't start until 12:00. Food was below average, smallish portion, charge $4 for a basket of biscuits, very disappointing brunch. I should have guessed when I called for reservations and was told not to worry, even after church. There are so many...

This is a very attractive property, with clean and homey rooms. We rented two rooms, one of which (Room 322) had no thermostat (the other one, directly below) did have one. Our room was very chilly when we checked in and we asked about adjusting the temperature. We were told that the AC could be turned off, if we preferred...

Hubby and I stayed overnight while a festival was in town. Property is well maintained and clean. Unfortunately, there was a sheet and a thin bedspread on the bed and we about froze! I got up in the middle of the night and checked the closet for blankets.....NOTHING!! I put on all the extra clothes I could find and got...

We only stayed one night, as we needed something in Black Mountain. The location is great. Walking distance to local shopping and restaurants. The hotel itself charming to visit, since it's older and historic to the area. It has a lovely garden area and very spacious public areas. Our queen room was just off the main stairway, so was a...

We just completed a wonderful weekend stay at Monte Vista Hotel in Black Mountain, NC. We were in Black Mountain with eight thousand others for the Spartan Super Race, a crushing 9+ mile torture-fest with 29 menacing obstacles. Even being a spectator was grueling as we cheered Uncle Darryl and the "All for One" team on from Orlando, FL. At...
