Everyone was very friendly. Dinner and service was good in the restaurant and the bartender in the pub was cheery (even though we were getting 6-8 inches of snow over night)! We hope to get to stay again.

We have stayed at the Thayer multiple times and always come away somewhat disappointed. It is the most convenient hotels to West Point which is typically why we end up there. The history makes the hotel unique and is displayed nicely throughout the hotel. The rooms are clean

Sandy was extremely pleasant and attentive to our needs. The selection of food was delicious as well as the selection of teas. It was great to see a vegan option provided as well but would’ve been nice to have a few more as we mentioned it when making the reservation. Overall,

I've done the train, and it was a nice trip along the Hudson - very pretty. I'd recommend that, plus the cab at Peekskill. The cab could be expensive, though. It's easier to get around here than it was (for me) in Ireland, so I don't think you'll have any problems. I wouldn't drive it if you can help it, though - this particular part of it can be a bear - I've driven it, and I didn't like it.

can we bring a 10 pound dog
Not sure. I did not see any pets while there but I would call ahead. The staff is very accommodating.
