Never stay here. Dirty smelly and vile are a few words that spring to mind. The hotel needs to be condemned. The curtain rail came off when we went to draw the curtains, TV was barely on the wall, Bath held together with tape and pubes in the bed. The corridor stunk of weed and the disabled toilet was covered in urine. We didn't stay and were promised a refund. This was 4 weeks ago and we are yet to see a pennt
Myself and brothers, with our partners stayed here for our fathers funeral, the rooms were ideal, very comfortable. After reading other reviews before it had been refurbished, were pretty poor but this seems to have changed a lot. Our main dealings with staff was great. Staff were very friendly, especially Gary who is possibly the nicest person to meet even to the point of him sitting with us at breakfast and having a natter and giving us all a huge hug before we left. We’ll most definitely be returning soon
Had a two night stay. The rooms where spacious and the beds comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's worth returning just for the welcome you get off Gary in the restaurant who welcomes you like bestie (it's this kind of thing that keeps people coming back again and again) A very enjoyable stay and will definitely be returning.
Matras missing any support. Bed missing a leg. Fungus in the bathroom. Bath was broken at the side with sharp edges. Bath crane was loose. No constant water temperature bath. Hairs in the bathroom. No reply to criticism. Remote control partially taped as not complete. Breakfast to pay extra for non continental.
Arrrived for an overnight stay but after seeing the room we booked elsewhere and left asap Dark, dingy, severe lack of lighting, dirty mirror and hair on the bedding to name a few issues! Felt like a prison cell! The pictures on their website are not what is being given to customers. Won't be back that's for sure.
We booked function suite for a 30th birthday party and stayed overnight. My room (lomond room) was very spacious and clean . Nice cooked breakfast. Friendly staff Big shout to Gary who made us very welcome and kept us laughing. Great member of staff !! My only negative comment is if hiring again I would get my own dj. Found him quite unapproachable and didn't play song I requested. Heard from other guest they felt the same. Don't like putting comment like this but feel if paying for someone they should be a bit more accommodating. Hotel is going through refurb , will go back again for dinner when completed. Thanks again to staff.
My sister and I booked here for one night to attend an event near by. Firstly great parking, receptionist was pleasant, welcoming and attentive. We requested a 12.00 check in (we arrived at 1.30) and as hotel was fully booed the night before our room wasn’t ready so had to wait until 2pm which wasn’t a problem. The room itself was basic, quite dark, lamp didn’t work and bathroom was a bit of a let down but it was clean and coffee facilities were good. Bedding was clean and beds were comfortable. It did the job. But decor was very outdated. My main issue was when I arrived back earlier than my sister. She stayed with friends and I came back as I was tired. Got there and realised my sister still had the key. I thought this wouldn’t be a problem, it was ! The night porter initially went to get a key to open my room then returned to say he didn’t have a spare key. I mean really ? I had to wait in reception until my sister returned at 1am. He did nothing more to help me, shrugged his shoulders and carried on hoovering function room. I was really upset and shattered. Breakfast time, we went down at 8am, we were down for a continental breakfast rather than a cooked breakfast ?? I saw no option for this when booking so something to check when booking. Carpet in dinning room really needs replaced !! Overall I paid £153 for a twin room. I wouldn’t say it’s worth that price and I would expect a proper breakfast for that. But if you can get a better deal it will defo do the job as a base.…
Where to start: - The bedroom was outdated and drab with moth bites in the curtains which were falling down. - The bathroom was grim - there was a hair on the shower and pubes on the walls. - The noise throughout the night was extreme - like a boiler system that wouldn’t shut down. - There was a carpenter working outside our room in the morning from 7am scraping the wall and our door, that woke us up. Obviously this isn’t his fault but they could have changed our room if they knew work was going to take place. We left the room and the corridor was full of his work stuff from end to end. - The room was cramped and uncomfortable. - The TV had no picture, only sound. - The shower didn’t work - you kept it on one temperature and it fluctuated from boiling to freezing and wouldn’t maintain any kind of heat. On a positive note, check in and check out was prompt and the room was a good location for what we needed. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel room. I feel bad leaving bad reviews without giving the place time to correct it but I felt so uncomfortable all night at the sound and hygiene that nothing could make me stay there again.…
The hotel is clean, but standards need to be improved ,very out of date needs a refurbishment, bathroom panel needed renewed, bedding could be of better standard , Gary is very welcoming who's the supervisor in restaurant deserves recognition & a pay rise for going over and above to help people and made us all feel welcome friendly atmosphere , nothing was too much trouble .
Firstly I can only review dinning at the King's Park. We booked a nostalgic evening as we had our wedding there 32 yes ago. Arrived & the place was deserted. Headed to the Bistro, young man serving there ignored us 3 times passing us by...not even a hello. Eventually acknowledged us in some fashion & shown to a seat. Asked if we could have a different one but we're told they would be setting up for breakfast soon!!! It was only 6.30pm!! Can only presume the young man obviously had no training at all as he really didn't seem to have a clue & not in any way customer friendly. We didn't get the right menu & when we asked he had no idea what a table de hote menu was. Then he couldn't find s full bottle of shiraz!! It was honestly like a really bad episode of Faulty Towers but with less laughs. Eventually a young woman came & told us that we couldn't have that menu but they could do us a bit of salmon!!! She then went to the table behind us (the only other table seated) to take away their starters..to which they told her had been "awful & disgusting " to which she just replied "sorry about that" That was the last straw so we had to get up & say we were leaving...to which she just said OK.. We weren't expecting 5 star dinning but what service we did get was absolutely awful. Will never return.…
