I went over to rottnest and decided with my mates of where to stay over a night and we found this hostel. First time we had a trouble with the reception and nearly get our keys for the room! because of they spelled my name wrong :( but fortunately we got our keys and we ride our bikes to the...

well- the island is amazing, we go every year and would go more often if the ferry and accomodation was not so expensive-this is the first time we have stayed at the barracks- we ( family of 4)were happy to get a 4 bed dorm room over Christmas booked at the last minute- just to clear up confusion that we...

We stayed in an 18 sleeper hostel with access to the beach. We had traveled from South Africa and were visiting family in Perth. The hostel was suitably comfortable for all of us, comprising of 4 x 2 sleepers rooms, and 2 large rooms sleeping 10. All the couples took the 2 sleeper rooms and the kids occupied the 2...

I booked this acc at the last minute in peak time, so was glad to get this "overflow" accomodation that is available during peak times. Was clean enough, and had decent kitchen facilities. Don't expect any staff to be at the facility itself and expect confusion around conflicting signs about luggage pickup times. Also, make sure you head to the...

My friend and I paid $50 each per night for a bed in a 10 bed dorm in the Kingstown Barracks Hostel over the Easter Long Weekend. Whilst the prices were increased being a public holiday, the costs were simply ridiculously overpriced. Having backpacked all over Europe, UK and the East and West coasts of Australia i can truly say...

Very basic but all you need, with a shared kitchen, bbqs and shared bathrooms on each wing. Our room was simple with just 2 single beds and 3 bunk beds, a total of 8 beds. Although the beds are squeaky we all slept comfortably, though the pillows were a bit hard. The rooms were dirty and a little old. It...

We had a private room which consisted of a double bed, bunk bed, tiny cabinet, mirror and well nothing else. It was fine apart from the extremely noisy door and bed. Literally any movement woke us up. Please oil both asap! It was unbearable. The room was nice and cool bespite the daytime heat. The shared kitchen, bathroom and living...

Thank you for your feedback and the tip about the squeaky door and bed which we have addressed. Consumption of alcohol is not allowed within the Kingstown Barracks out of consideration to other users. However, there are many places on Rottnest Island for those who want to enjoy a drink!

We stayed at the barracks for one night. It was a perfect base to explore the island from. We saw lots of quokkas on the grounds while we were there. It's only a short bike ride to the main settlement, and to some beautiful beaches. We stayed in a dorm room, but the other guests were very considerate and quiet,...

We stayed in a family room at Kingstown Barracks. It was simply a room with a set of bunk beds, a double bed, a bedside table and a mirror, plus clean bed linen and towels. Perfect for what we needed and what we paid. Clean, comfortable and affordable. The shower block was clean and strangely quiet given how busy the...

Our first time staying over on rottnest. Booked two family rooms in the same block. Excellent facilities.....typical hostel kitchen and dinning area...well stocked and clean. Rooms good size...large double bed and bunk. Doors a bit noisy when closed by other guests.....but on the whole very quiet for a school holiday. We took our own bikes....it took just 15-20 mins to...
