Nice lodge, cabin, beautiful area, and good food. Lovers of nature and wildlife we found this area a bit disappointing; however, we are surely more demanding than some people as we have experienced some great sighting in various areas of Peru. Our guide who followed...More

Dear guest Thank you for your comments. This helps us to improve our services. Unfortunately the fauna has their own timing depending on weather conditions and as it is known thisis unpredictable.

Firstly, the journey from Puerto Maldonado does indeed take around six hours. However, the goal of reaching this wildlife haven more than justifies the means. Your guide is already on board at this stage divulging information about the passing birdlife; be it flocks of spoonbills,...More

Hello, Since booking our September 2016 stay at Heath River Lodge I unfortunately fractured my upper femur and have had a left hip replacement. I am gently bedding it in and plan to build it up close to normal use by the time of our Amazon trip. My concerns are about the Journey too and from the lodge. This being a 5 hour motorised canoe trip and trail walking in the dark. As I am 6 feet tall I am wondering how I would manage being squashed up in the canoe seat and the effect that it might have on my relatively new hip joint. Best Regards Peter Glass
