We (females friends, aged 81, 75, 59, 55) were here the first week of Dec.2016. There is a long walk through mud holes and beautiful foilage, but doable with a walking stick and rubber boots provided. Walk at your own speed and enjoy it. My...More

Difficult to access...45 minutes by motorised boat then another 40 minutes walk through a dusty lopsided trail and then another 40 minutes down the Amazon tributary to the Sandoval lake. Then another 40 odd steep steps up. Certainly not for older travellers but an amazing...More

This is a beautiful place base yourself for an Amazon experience, it provides the perfect base from which to be guided across the lake to see Giant River Otters and Cayman or into the jungle to see giant trees, birds monkeys and insects. 3 nights...More

The resort is great for what it is, a lodge in the middle of the jungle. There is no ceiling in the rooms, and they all are connected under a common roof. We struck 12 C weather in the jungle, it was freezing cold. The...More

Hi . There is a website called sandovallakelodge (. c o m). I thought this was the official lodge site. I emailed them to get information and book a package at the lodge. Edgar (with very poor English) responded that he could book me the 2 days and 1 night stay for $240 (special price) and that there were few rooms left for my chosen date. As is often the case in Peru, he said to reserve I would need to wire money. Around the same time, I had sent an inquiry to InkaNatura who apparently owns this and several other lodges. They quoted me a higher price. When I called them and asked them about the sandovallakelodge (. c o m), they replied that they do not know who owns this site but that other travel agencies do book the lodge through them as well. Has anyone out there actually dealt with the people at sandovallakelodge (. com). Are they legit??? I am confused :-(
