You sleep in the master house of one of the first historic farms in the area, but don't expect luxury, rather a weird and wonderful mixture of poor colonial settler estate and old style anglo upper class decor. We spent 2 days in Estancia Viamonte and enjoyed every minute of it. We did a couple of hikes around the property and our 2-year-old got a hands-on lesson on lamb shearing. The all-inclusive package guarantees outstanding cuisine, great drinks and wine und superb service. This is a very historic place and if you meet Adrian for the pre-dinner drinks, he'll share a lot with you which helps to understand what...

We chatted about the fascinatig...

We found this estancia in a guidebook as we were driving from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. It is just below Rio Grande, Argentina in Tierra del Fuego. It is about 3 hours from Ushuaia so someone who wants an extension trip if they're going to Antarctica, might consider staying here. It is run by the descendants of the original settlers...
