I can only say that refurbishment is thirty years past due. Preserving at atmosphere does not mean that mattresses, linen, curtains and carpets need to be worn out or in urgent need of cleaning. I sincerely hope that thenew management address these issues sooner rather tan later.

My Rough Guide did not mention St Girons and this should have alerted me to the fact that this would not be a nice place to visit. St Girons has seen better days and now has a lot of sad restaurants that don't sweep up the fag ends and streets full of dog poo. If you are in the area...

We had a lovely room (No 9) with private terrace at the back overlooking the garden so quiet. Great size room and bathroom, comfortable bed and nicely furnished. Lovely welcome and very friendly staff. Our meal was a little on the expensive side, and were a little disapointing. my lamb dish was supposed to have won a prize, but was...

Only stayed the one night but this old coach house hotel has lots of old world charm. The staff were excellent, the rooms very lean and cosy and I had a great nights sleep. The restaurant wasn't very busy but the food was wonderfully presented and tasted delicious. Would definitely stay here again. Overall a simple old style hotel with...

We did not stay here but ate at the restaurant at the recommendation of our hotelier. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We had the set course meal and each course was as good as the last. The shrimp in the appetizers were large and grilled well, the veal was tender and, of course, sauced well. the dessert...

We spent the night here to be near the market in St Girons, which is very nice to visit indeed. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, which meant that the bedroom and bathroom were much bigger than average in France. Although very simply furnished it was all very clean and pleasant. the staff were very friendly and...

When you travel through the south of france you start to see a pattern. Lodging accommodations in these old medieval towns are NOT the top priority. You will not find state of the art hotel rooms with brand new furniture and modern comforts. These "paradores" and chateaus turned into hotels are very old buildings with alot of history. And isn't...

Characterful and quirky hotel which is well located near the town centre with nice welcoming staff but all a bit run down and tired looking. A bit overpriced for what it is but still an ok place to stay.

We spent two nights in this hotel. The room was small and looking out the front, with an overall dreary aspect to it, and the price, at €100 per night for the room was not good value. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the garden and the pool were lovely, the food was really good and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the middle of the Pyrenean Mountains, in the heart of the Natural Park, one minute away from downtown Saint-Girons, the Hotel & Restaurant Eychenne welcomes you with lots of smile in a cosy atmosphere. All our clients are always surprised when they discover our hotel. We are located in a small street of Saint Girons, just next to downtown. Our facade is charming, but doesn't let people guess all the space we have to offer until they come in. At the entrance, in the hall and at the reception, everything is subject to photographs. One step inside, and people can feel like they are just travelling in time, apealed to an old style french hotel, very traditional, but with all the comfort of modernity... with more than 4000m2 of facilities! ... more   less
