We stayed for two nights in cabin 34 - one of the lakeside cabins. The cabins are designed for privacy and a great view of Seneca Lake. I recommend staying in one of these rather than a creekside cabin. The couple who own and run the resort are onsite and explained that they had picked up ideas for the cabin designs from travels all over the world. The interiors were so well designed for easy cleaning and for comfort. Loved the great beds and walk-in shower. A campfire every night. Watkins Glen was pretty hectic during this season but the resort was just far enough out of town to be very quiet and relaxed. Hope we can return one day. Be sure to check out the waterfall.
Came across this place on the way to a winery. Stopped in and had a very good lunch. Owner has a smoker for meat out back and the sandwich tasted very smoky and was delicious. Nice little bar in restaurant too. Good find.
This collection of modern cabins, rooms and a bistro was great. The room we stayed in was new, the staff very helpful and the grounds beautiful. We enjoyed our bistro meal. The only slight drawback was spotty Wi-Fi at times but still an excellent experience.
Stayed one night on our way through. Wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back. We can’t say enough good things. We stayed in a cabin and had amazing views of the lake. The hillside cabins are new, comfortable, clean and spacious. There is a kitchenette that was well stocked. Every staff member we met was so friendly but special kudos to Mandy. She called us early in the day as she had noticed I requested a “ quiet area” on my reservation. She explained that the creek side cabins were rather clustered up in front and I might prefer one of the hillside cabins. With a small up charge she put us in a wonderful cabin. We had a delicious dinner in the Bistro- chef prepared food at reasonable prices, great service and a view of the lake. Another staff member that deserves kudos is Rocky. He greeted us with a wag of the tail and escorted us on a nature walk to a beautiful little waterfall. This is just minutes from Watkins Glen State Park. Don’t hesitate!…
We decided to get away for NYE and I came across this place and glad I did. We were in one of the older cabins but it was great. Clean and comfortable and more room than I expected. Everyone was friendly and the Bistro was great. We would return but try to get a cabin with a view. I would recommend.
Lakeview cabins offer great views, comfortable and clean lodging, and are perfect for a couple (and their awesome dog). Leveling expectations - the cabins have concrete floors if that makes a difference for you, make sure to bring a good dog bed, sheets and towels changed every third day, and the kitchen is limited - 4 sets of dishes and no oven - all this was fine for us, but you should know before traveling. The property is great, nice walking trails, bonfire each night, the Bistro on site has tasty food, spacious bathroom, and good layout. They did the trash daily, our dog could roam free (she responds to voice commands), and there was parking right outside the door. Would have been 5 stars, but the sofa was small and uncomfortable and the furniture layout in living room was awkward (we had to rearrange). Otherwise, we would highly recommend. …
My husband and I took a chance and traveled here for our Anniversary. It was a relaxing, beautiful setting, and we loved the privacy of our cabin. The people were also so friendly and kind, and you could visibly tell that they take great pride in their establishment. I loved the nightly fires, the gorgeous views and the proximity to so many beautiful, hiking areas. I would recommend this place to any couple or family in need of some peace and relaxation!
The property is beautiful and has a great view! The staff was wonderful and we greatly enjoyed breakfast at the Bistro. We stayed in cabin #9. I knew (from reviews) that the cabin that I rented was a bit dated, but that did not bother me. What does matter is cleanliness. The floor was honestly the dirtiest floor in any establishment that I have ever stayed in. There is NO way that this floor has been washed or even wet mopped in quite some time. I had colored socks on and after washing them, I had to throw them out. I wore shoes for the remainder of my stay. There is absolutely no excuse for the floor being so dirty. I've only seen one other review noting this and this completely baffles me. Maybe they only clean the newer cabins properly????? Based on the dirty floors, I honestly could not recommend staying here nor would I stay here again.…
Wonderful, cozy cabin for me and my fiancé. View of the lake was beautiful. Roasted some s’mores at the fire pit which was fun. Only downside was that the living area wasn’t super cozy, so on the day it rained, we only really had the bed to relax in because the couch was too small and not comfortable. Other than that, perfect place to stay! Would definitely recommend.
The resort is very nice, clean, our room was perfect for us, if you are dog friendly, Rocky is super nice...Bistro much to be desired on our stay...cold food rude waitress...for dinner.good breakfast.
