Perfect for what we needed for a weekend trip to Watkins Glen. Super close to everything, right down the street from Watkins Glen, Walmart & CVS within 5 mins. Room & bathroom were clean and bed was comfortable.Fridge & microwave in room. Shower was hot and the water pressure was great! (Pet peeve of mine) Room was cleaned everyday, friendly staff. Would stay here again!
Good place to stay when visiting the area, especially Watkins Glen State Park. The rooms are a little dated, but very nice, very clean, roomy, and comfortable. They had a fridge, microwave, and good WiFi. Continental breakfast of coffee and packaged cakes, that were yummy. It is walking distance to the park. The manager couldn't have been more friendly and helpful! Very nice!!
Spent 4 days at the Seneca Clipper Inn. Decor is outdated, paint was peeling from the back of the sink, towels were clean but small -often covered in stains, the shower head was very cheap with a frantic field of spray and the faucet was loose and barely bolted to the sink. The upside- the beds were very comfortable, the room was adequately clean, the air conditioner worked and we were walking distance to downtown Watkins Glen. Some TLC, updating the grandma decor, fixing the sink and investing in new/larger towels would take this place from “Adequate” to “Great” - aligning better for the price paid.
Seriously 2 stars is exaggerated ! It is only convenient as it is near Watkins Glen State Park. Clearly the owner takes advantage of the location. The breakfast is just nowhere to be seen : coffee, hot water, a couple of biscuits & that's the whole of it. Really not worth the price. Please avoid.
It is a typical motel. Small rooms. Not dirty but certainly not clean. My experience was not great though. First, the toilet in my room was broken and leaking through the carpet. The bathroom door would not close. I asked to be moved but was denied because I was told the place was full. I doubt that. The plumber confirmed the broken toilet so I was moved to another room the next day. When I checked out, I was overcharged by $10 a night. I think I will never go to any motel again.
This is a nice and comfortable motel. The rooms were quiet and very clean. At the time of booking it said breakfast included, which was, however, only a few muffins and sweets, so do not expect any massive breakfast. Otherwise a nice place to spend the night.
Seneca Clipper Inn is a quaint little motel on the main street of Watkins Glen NY. It was a small place with friendly helpful operators. The rooms are small but very clean and well appointed. The bed were comfortable, providing a good nights sleep. We were attending the nearby Indy Car Grand prix and extended our stay to visit some of the many wonderful wineries in the area.Hotel was located very to to the track and the state park........plenty of things to do. The hotel provided everything we wanted. It had a refrigerator and microwave, good hot water for the shower, excellent free wireless internet service and a tidy (if small) clean room for a decent price. We will certainly visit again.
I have been staying at the Seneca Clipper Inn for years while attending the Deck the Hall's Wine Tasting Event on Seneca Lake every November. The Inn is not as modern or updated as some of the hotels out there but is it very clean and very accommodating. John the Manager and his wife are warm and wonderful people and make our stay great. The Inn sits at the far end of Seneca Lake far enough away but yet close enough to everything. There is a wonderful place just a short walk away called Curly's to eat a warm delicious breakfast. We love Seneca Clipper Inn and John! Thanks for all you do for us.
A small place. Proprieters were very nice and helpful. A bit noisy in our end room near the street. Neat and comfortable. We could walk to a lot of places in town. On the Main Street, so conveniently located.
If you are looking for a basic room that is clean and comfortable this is it. Nothing fancy. Friendly staff. free wi-fi. The rooms are small but comfortable. Bathrooms are very Basic. There were refrigerators and microwave ovens in every room.
