This is charming hotel in a fascinating old building in the heart of Mirepoix. It changed hands a couple of months ago and we were very impressed with the service. When we arrived there was a confusion about the room rates offered by Booking.com. When we came to check out we found that Madame had investigated the problem and even... More

Very nice building with great features. Tastefully decorated and very confortable room. Soirée étape (including breakfast and dinner) is decent value for money. The restaurant serves very nicely cooked fresh local ingredients. Stopped there 2 nights and was not offered a choice of main course, only a choice between sweet desert or cheese. Service was very slow on the first... More

This hotel is situated just around the corner from the town square which made it very quiet. Make sure your stay includes a Monday as the market was great, excellent local cheese and vegetables although the usual imported rubbish one sees everywhere theses days. We stayed for 4 days and loved the relaxed atmosphere, we came and went as we... More

Situated in the heart of the medieval town of Mirepoix, Les Remparts is very unimposing from the outside. However, inside is a labyrinth of beautiful wooden floors, stairs, and corridors, leading to the various open spaces and dining rooms in the hotel. It is all very quaint, a delightful use of wood, all beautifully furnished and decorated. Our room, a... More

We booked our room directly through the hotel, which seemed reasonable, the communication was prompt and efficient. As with a lot of the reviews I have read about this hotel, we too found it unmanned when we arrived for our two night stay, but we rang the intercom and were let in fairly swiftly. There was a message for us... More

We spent two nights at l'Hotel les Remparts in the Jacuzzi room. We both thought the room was comfortable and clean, the hotel well-situated and the staff pleasant, but I would not choose that room again. There were no directions provided with the Jacuzzi, and it would start up by itself when I took baths without touching any of the... More

Booked one night through bookings.com (as suggested by tripadvisor)... Arrived (difficult to find, no car park evident so luckily parked on the street); no answer at the door, finally someone came down and let me in.... Was taken up to room, it was fine, with a jacuzzi bath.... No information given except for "dial 9", nothing in the room to... More

This mother and daughter team need to learn about good customer service. Our patience was tested time and time again in the single night that we stayed there. On arrival the hotel was closed even though we had rang ahead to confirm the check-in time. We had booked a Standard room overlooking the courtyard and had requested online that it... More

Our six day stay mirrored many of the previous comments. Mirepoix is a beautiful walled city and the hotel is conveniently located near the old quarter. Lots of restaurants and shops close by and the supermarket within walking distance. Hotel was unmanned on arrival and a short delay ensued after phone calls. Room was pleasant but noisy from the rubbish... More

We stayed here in August during the peak tourist season. It is a very small, typical French hotel with lots of atmosphere. As the nearby street parking was full, staff moved one of their cars for us to park directly outside the hotel, which was great as we had quite a lot of luggage. There is wifi in the shared... More

“If you are a light sleeper request room 3 - it's a superior room so a bit more expensive but worth the little bit extra for no road noise or any room they may have the other side from the road.”

“If you choose to eat in one of the many outdoor restaurants in and around the lovely village square in Mirepoix you will have a great time but watch out for the mosquitoes! My wife and I had a meal there on a lovely warm May evening and got eaten alive by the little fellows.”
