Sorry for the LONG delay in reviewing the Lodge. We were fortunate to be the very first guests to stay at the Lodge in 2013. OUTSTANDING service, accommodations and food! Wonderful to sit out on our balcony overlooking the Gorge when the baboons weren't taking our spots. Took the hike into the Gorge and spent time with a family of... More

The trip was organised by Stepps Travel in Cirencester and we would never book anything with them again. we were greeted at the airport in Entebbe by Volcanoes Safaris and driven 7 hrs to get to this lodge, the drive was awful as roads do not exist and the vehicle was very uncomfortable. The accommodation was very basic , the... More

This is a lovely lodge at the very edge of the Kyambura Gorge. The beds are comfortable, the rooms spacious. There was a swing on the porch and window seats if you just want to relax and read, enjoying the birds and monkeys in the trees. The main lodge has a large terrace, perfect for relaxing after a chimpanzee trek.... More

This is the most modern of the Volcanoes Safaris lodges and the style is terrific. The chef is particularly good and the food delicious. As with all the Volcanoes lodges, the service is top notch. The main lodge has a huge terrace with views of the Kyambura Gorge and the savannah beside it. Elephants can occasionally be spotted from the... More

This was the first Volcanoes Safaris lodge that we stayed at for 3 nights & were not disappointed! The lodge is a 7 hour drive from Entebbe; located in a rural village overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park which is approximately a 30' drive. We would recommend the drive instead of flying because we saw so much along the way thanks... More

If you looking for a secluded little oasis in the middle of Uganda - close to Kazinga channel cruising and the chimpanzees of the Kyambura Gorg then this is recommended. The staff are amazing and very helpful - nothing is too much trouble. They scrub clean your clothes after a day's adventure, race over to ask what you would like... More

I stayed at Kyambura Lodge with my wife as part of a Volcanoes Safari. This was our first stop. The design of the lodge is innovative and imaginative, with the use of bare brick and old materials re-cycled into new furniture. There is a feeling of space and light, with sweeping views over the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Africa... More

We had an 8 day safari through Uganda and Rwanda and this was the best lodge we stayed at. The individual bandas are very private and luxurious. We recently travelled two weeks around Uganda - aiming for the nicest lodge in each area - and the best place we stayed (followed by Clouds): the individual bandas are very large, well spaced out and beautifully decorated, the service is excellent and the food was absolutely delicious (the chef, Innocent, had been brought over from Virunga lodge). One issue... More

I stayed two nights at this lodge last week. Views stunning. Staff so nice and couldn't do enough for me. Made me feel so welcome. The food was very good. My lodge was so spacious and the view from it amazing. I had a great time staying here and hope to return one day.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the edge of the Kyambura Gorge and Queen Elizabeth National Park, in Uganda, one of Africa's finest national parks, Volcanoes newest lodge, Kyambura Gorge Lodge, has stunning views over the Gorge and the lush savannah of the park, with the peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. The main lodge building was originally a coffee store and processing plant, surrounded by coffee plantations. The original structure has been sensitively restored to create a stunning living space, balancing the history of the building with the location and creating a series of distinct luxurious contemporary spaces for guests. Eight beautiful, spacious bandas have been carefully nestled into the hillside, each with their own luxury bathroom. Each room has a different aspect of the panoramic views across the gorge, savannah and mythical Rwenzoris. Each banda is uniquely appointed, adopting a different colour theme. ... more   less
