It is 1.6km (15 min walk) from the port and is 7.4km (15 min drive) from the airport. All major banks and tourist attractions are within walking distance. In our hotel we have an amazing roof top terrace where you can have a birds eye view of the city while enjoying your dinner with the incredible sunset view. We are glad to represent you a full range of our services. Breakfasts are included to the room price. In our restaurant you can order different types of food from our new menu. In a quiet and cozy atmosphere you can read the literature from our sharing shelf where our visitors leave books from all over the world. The main advantage of our hotel is that the main problem with electricity cutting is solved by the generator. So you can be sure that in our place you’ll have an opportunity to work and to use wi-fi whenever you want. Myself and a group of fellow students stayed here in August for three nights. It's a convenient and affordable spot, clean with fans in the rooms, decent wifi and a breakfast included. The staff also arrange trips for things like Spice Tours and Prison Island at affordable budget prices. It's located towards the edge of Stonetown but still only about ten minutes walk from attractions/shops you might want to visit. It is however very much a bare bones establishment-don't go there expecting any form of luxury.

Booked a private room, which was rather small with room for little more than the bed a a small table. The room was clean, and the bed had a good mosquito net. The room was very hot during the night, the ceiling fan helped a little. The hostel serves a very simple breakfast (egg, bread and coffee/tea) in its rooftop terrace, from which one has a nice view of part of the city. The staff was smiling and helpfull. The hostel offers a number of tours, of which the spicetour can be recommended.

I have stayed at Flamingo guest house several times while In zanzibar between my trips to the beach. It has the perfect location, close to everything, and good rooms for the value. You really can't get any more budget than this. It's clean and safe with good wifi and breakfast served in the rooftop. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom and it was perfect for me. You can also book all tours with them and their prices are slightly lower than the agencies around. And the staff is very nice and helpful, ishak and Omari were helping me with directions, practice my Swahili and whatever else I needed. I really enjoyed this place so much, I felt at home. I will stay here again if I return to Zanzibar. Thank you for making me feel at home !!

Very basic rooms, with a fan only but quite nice breakfast. In the night very hot, not easy to sleep, but that's the whole islands clima... The staff is okey but not amazing. The location was quite good. Good for backpackers only, not for comfort or relax.

The rooms are basic, don't expect anything cosy, but they are clean, cheap (very cheap compared to most other accommodations, even most other budget/backpackers options) and have a fan. The breaksfast is included and served on the rooftop terrace.
