Great location in the heart of Stonetown, with a nice swimming pool and super friendly and helpful staff. Clean spacious bedroom with a mosquito net for added safety. Delicious & fresh buffet breakfast.
Wouldent recomend this hotel to families! The roomes are very small and half the time we were there the pool was closed. Ended up cheking out two days before planed because of the bad conditions and couldent get a refund because we payd in advance.
Good choice if you like a small and cozy hotel, in general well maintained, with basic amenities; the room was nice and clean, offering what you need Very good food, breakfast comes with fresh fruits, fresh fruit juice, toast and a choice of eggs. Easy access to restaurants, pharmacy, money exchange, etc. it is safe to walk
The reception staff is really nice, the rooms are Okay but separated with a door (in between two rooms) so you can hear everything from next door. Also, sometimes the sewage smells from the bathrooms and it gets really bad. We were really happy with the restaurant for the first few days. Everything was decent and okay priced. However, on our 4th day, we noticed cockroaches crawling over the tables in the restaurant. The next day for breakfast, we saw one crawling over toast bread and into the jam jar. Didn’t say anything, but then we sat down to eat and my husband took a piece of fried something doughy and found one stuck to that. He was disgusted and immediately went to the waiter to tell him that they obviously have the insects in the kitchen. The waiter went to bring that to the chef, came back outside and laughed with other waitresses. No apology or nothing. So, all in all, for us it was okay since we didn’t spend basically any time in our room except for sleeping, but we wouldn’t come back as we’re disgusted with the state of the kitchen (you can also see inside through the windows) and honestly feel lucky that we only saw it during our last days here because if it was any earlier I think we would have left early. Only kudos to the reception!…
If i can say with one word: Terrible. Location and bar/restaurant area is lovely, but our room smelled really bad, some kind of moldy smell. We were barely able to sleep. Such room should not be given out for travelers. And the worst thing is, receptionist was aware of that, as he jumped to the room after we came for a check in with air refreshener to cover the smell.
Terrible services, waiters entertain only in guest house customers, unprofessional waiters behaviour, very rude worst experience ever never going back, the offers in the Restuarant takes 1 hour to cook. Just Terrible burgers I ordered on the offer was raw and not as expected
I stayed at the Antonio Garden with my wife for 4 days in Stone Town. The location was great right in the middle of the town, and the price was really good. Staff were overall friendly and the check-in process was easy. The rooms are fairly large, but also feel cramped and don't have a lot of desk space. The bathrooms get very hot and humid. Also you will be woken up to call to prayer, so if you need sleep plan as necessary. Additionally the restaurant is okay, and staff is rather slow and seem annoyed to help you. Finally, they have a spa, but it doesn't take credit card, so plan accordingly. If you are on a budget this is a good place, otherwise I'd review other options.
If you’re staying there cause it is cheap, then understandable If you’re staying because the reviews are decent and the pics look decent, I would advise to pay extra The rooms are dirty and not looked after. The rooms are separated by a door which means I can hear everything happening in the room next to me The mattress gave me a very bad back ache
Got stuck in my room because the lock didn’t work. The hotel staff were laughing at us through the window and told us they lost the key to the adjacent room. Water was also coming out the sewers. When they finally opened the room, they couldn’t fix the lock so they sent us to another hotel (while our friends stayed here). Moreover, the safebox didn’t work and we had a room at ground floor so we could hear everything going on at the entry and at the reception. I would not recommend this hotel at all!
I loved the ambiance and how unique the architecture is there is a bar with a pool its a work in bar for every body a beautiful place to chill and dine with family or friends when your in stone town or having a Zanzibar trip its always nice trying new staysb
