Ok place, good location. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but we changed it to 1 night. Try to negotiate the rates. The rooms are clean. Shower is open in the bathroom it doesn't have a partition. Water pressure is very low. There are noises in the evening from the street and you can hear the noise from the hotel lobby as the hotel is built in an old way so the rooms are not very well isolated. The room doesn't have a balcony and you will not be able to open the windows.
I and my family arrived at Asmini PALACE Hotel on 21st february 2021 at around 14:00 hrs.The parking area close by is overlooking forodhani garden about 200 m to asmini PALACE so you will have to pull your luggage to the hotel.Aircondition is very good.shower runs very slow..when I asked they told me it's all the same in stonetown but we moved to KISIWA house hotel and water was running with power nicely..very powerfull indeed. At asmini PALACE Hotel they dont put shampo no shower gel..but they put a small solid bathing soap.Breakfast is a repeated set menu starting with a plate of fruits.papaya, pineaple(half ripe)and banana.a small glass of juice.then agg of your choice mostly with too much salt, toasted two slices of home baked broad and two pancakes..This is served daily the same except the juice will change sometimes. The staff are very friendly..internet fluctuates everyday.i asked and was told that the problem is from provider.Tv has no signal.Toilet doors make noise closing and opening..I put some oil to silence them. Was our second Holiday but will never again.its not worth 4 star hotel and not worth the money.…
This hotel is located in the old town of Stone Town in Kiponda area.. The location is great you are near all interesting areas in Stone Town. The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. All rooms are sprayed with insects repellent each evening. Rooms are large with great bed and mosquito net, Wifi worked very well, there is a fridge in the room. The restaurant is on top of the building with great views over Stone Town. Great breakfast in the restaurant. For dinner the restaurant is one of the cheaper option but the competition is strong from other restaurants you will probably eat some there else? Services for guides, taxis are very good its a bit on the expensive side but the quality is also very high!
Love staying at this hotel in Stonetown. It’s got character, is very clean and friendly. Breakfast on the hotel roof is wonderful giving great views over Stonetown. It’s quiet and the staff at reception are very helpful.
We were very well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Breakfasts were adequate, and reflected what you'd expect, given the price. Our comfortable bedroom was on the third floor, with a small balcony, so only one floor up to the roof-top restaurant with views around Stone Town. We spoke mostly to reception staff who were very courteous and friendly. We were actually only there for 2 nights, before going elsewhere on the island. When we were in staying in Matemwe, about 10 days later, we had a reason to return to Stone Town (needed an ATM). We popped in to say hello and were instantly recognised. Actually that's not true, my girlfriend needed the loo, so we hoped we might be allowed to use their facilities (finding a toilet in Stone Town isn't easy!) Thank you Asmini Palace! Anyway, if we returned to Stone Town, would we return to the Asmini - yes, definitely!…
On arrival we were given welcome drinks (Fruit juice), before being shown to our room with a king size 4 poster bed, with mosquito net attached. The room was very clean, and is very large. Tea making facilities, and a fridge in the room are a bonus. Lots of UK plug outlets available, though a few were quite loose, so using them felt a little dodgy. The hotel has a balcony (Stayed in room 201), from which you can see the sea (just about), although the main view is of the street below. The room has a switch for the hot water boiler, which we couldn't seem to get to work, though given the heat we weren't bothered. Not sure if it wasn't working, or if we were doing something wrong. The staff were incredibly helpful. After check out at 10am, we had a full day before our flight at midnight. The hotel stored our bags in a locked room for us, and were happy to let us wait in the lobby in the evening, as the reception desk is manned 24 hours a day. Breakfast is good. A plate of fruit, as well as toast, pancakes, and eggs, tea and fruit juice. This is served on the roof top. Overall a very good hotel, which I would recommend!…
I stayed in room 201: clean, cozy and spacious. The hotel is well located in the center of the town. Staff is nice, came swiftly when i called to fix the TV. Breakfast on the terrace offers a good view and breeze.Good value.
I have to give this place, and first and foremost the people, our best recommendations. Centrally located and in fine condition. Good clean rooms that may not be luxurious, but very fine with air condition and very clean and tidy. Nice roof terrasse for breakfast, and everything is in Order. But the boss and his people were our favorite thing. So Nice and helpful and very truthful. Good prices on taxi and trips, and just very attentive to our every need. I give this place my warmest recommendation. Frederik
We stayed at this sweet traditional hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. It is set in the heart of Stone Town , very close to the amazing seafront and local shops. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, such warm and friendly people who bent over backwards to make sure we were looked after. The rooms were clean and comfortable- loved the views from the roof top terrace. We will be back ! Thank you 😊
