After relaxing at Ras Kutani for a few days we took the local air carrier to Jongomero and had a great first time in Ruaha. The camp is situated on a now dry riverbed which host a range of elephant, baboons. Hyena other nocturnals - along with some spectacular birdlife. Food was authentic and well prepared - game drives were...

We came to Jongomero following a fly camping experience that was second to none......so the expectation levels were high. That said, the desire for comfort, a shower and space to stretch out was higher! We were not disappointed by the facilities on offer - a 'real' shower, a flushing toilet and space were very welcome.......the other guests (Tsetse flies) were...

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 15 year old daughter. The tent, service and food was all fantastic. Being so far from any other camp meant that it felt as though we had the whole park to ourselves.

We have stayed in many camps in Africa and this was one of the best. It's in a beautiful location next to a river ( was a dry river bed when we went in August ) in the very pretty Ruaha National park which has a wide variety of landscapes and plentiful wildlife. The rooms are very comfortable& well equipped...

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. The camp staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful, we were welcomed when we arrived and our every need was met. The rooms are quite stunning. Much more luxurious than the 'bush' camp rustic places and with stunning views out across the river (which was dry when we were there so...

My husband, Ian, and I have just returned from 7 nights in Ruaha, staying at Jongomero for 3 nights. I can only say that our stay at Jongomero was just wonderful. We were greeted by the camp management and staff performing a Kiswahili welcome song and dance, with cool towels and a drink. Chris and Sam run a fabulous camp,...

We wanted to experience a safari that was as close to nature as we could get and Jongomero does this with style! Great camp with amazing food, welcoming and incredibly comfortable tents, and such friendly and accommodating staff. Of course the vehicles and guides are so important and both are excellent. Our guide was Theo and he was amazing. His...

You feel very privileged to have stayed in this camp. The game experience is very different from any others we have stayed at (particularly at this time of year when the bush is still very green). For anyone seeking a true African wilderness experience, a visit to Ruaha National Park is essential. One of Tanzania's wildest parks, Ruaha can only be described as a true unspoiled natural wilderness. Superbly isolated right in the heart of the Ruaha National Park lies Jongomero on the banks of a seasonal sand river which bears the same name. Blending in beautifully with its surroundings the camp is tucked away among some shady riverine vegetation not far from permanent water therefore attracting a large amount of animals into the camp area. Being the only camp situated in this area of the park ensures unmatched privacy and a true wilderness experience.
