This Lodge is set on top of a hill overlooking Lake Manyara and is a very convenient overnight stop en route to or from Serengeti. The rooms are set in 2 storey rondavels, the upper rooms having slightly better views. The rooms are very comfortble, with outdoor patios from which to bird watch or just enjoy the view of Lake Manyara below. Service is good and staff are friendly and helpful. The meals are buffet style with ample choice. The grounds are extensive and the pool rimflow with views over Lake Manyara. Sadly for the Hotel staff our group were the only guests that night.
We stayed here at the end of our Serengeti safari and it was a great place to end the vacation. The rooms/suites were well equipped and the views spectacular. The swimming pool was clean and the water not too cold :)
This hotel is paradise! We walked in the door exhausted from safari and treated like family! The view from our balcony was amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for the welcoming staff. Food was delicious! You really have to experience the most tranquil pool with an endless view! Asante sana to all staff we will be back soon!
Grounds are exceptional— complete With an infinity pool. Very good service. Swahili cooking lesson available. Very nice room with balcony and exception view -furnished with Africa decor. Charming bungalows made into separate rooms.
Our initial reaction when we first arrived at the property was very negative. When we got to our room, we realised that the fan, telephone and WiFi did not work. The bathroom was extremely small with an old-style plastic curtain. This is not what we would have expected from a luxury property. There are four rooms per bungalow and like its sister properties we visited, the rooms are on the smaller side for a luxury lodge and more hotel-like. When we complained, the staff took this very seriously and immediately moved us to another room with a better bathroom and left us warm nuts and crisps to snack on. Unfortunately the WiFi went in and out while were there. Sometimes due to the WiFi being unstable, other times due to power cuts from the local provider which are out of the property’s control. They do turn on the generator when this happens, but there is some lag time. We really enjoyed the food at this property. The food was exceptional, the bar menu extensive and the drinks made very well. We don’t think it fully lived up to a 5 star, but it earned its way back to a 4 star with the very attentive staff and management, who quickly tried to make amends. It had a beautiful pool and views of Lake Manyara. It is located just outside of Lake Manyara, which means there are limited mosquitoes and no tsetse flies.…
