This resort is not 5 star luxury, but it comes very close to being one of the most blissful places I have visited. It is set on a tidal bay, and the sea is virtually lapping at your door. The rooms are comfortable and airconditioned and very clean! The highlight is the staff, who go out of their way to...

We stayed here as a couple at the end of a whistlestop tour of SA for some much needed R&R but also to do some diving, given that we had heard that Bazaruto is a great place to see whale sharks. The main disapointment of the holiday is that we didnt get to go diving at all in the 6...

This resort was definately a brain wave when my hubby was planning our honeymoon. You fly in on a tiny aeroplain from vilanculous accross the clearest most amazing water in which you can spot some devil rays, turtles and many more. On arrival we were greeting by the lovely staff and everything got put on a trackter and there we...

Bazaruto island is amazing and the arrival by plane is an unforgettable experience. However Pestana lodge has one of the worst value for money of all our hotel experience! Rooms are very basic, food is below average (lunch a la carte are good, but the breakfast buffets and dinner buffets are terrible) and service is to the standard of a...

The chalets are cool from the high thatch ceilings, each has a little patio and lovely bathrooms with outdoor showers. There are a lot of activities for active couples, families or friends. (Just no kids club or babysitting so better for older kids). The beach is lovely but I recommend you ask for a beachfront chalet (the others are one...

We visited the hotel in August 2012. It's a lovely place, and the flight in from the main airport has some breathtaking views over the archipelago. The hotel is very picturesque and as others have said, it looks like paradise. We did the diving and snorkelling, and found the snorkelling to be better, as the current was strong and the...

We stayed in the Pestana Bazaruto Lodge for two nights as a relatively last minute getaway, one month into a marine conservation volunteer project further down the coast. The hotel is located on the northernmost tip of Ilha do Bazaruto, the largest island in the archipelago, about 30km offshore. The islands are beautiful and remain largely undeveloped, as is the...

The location is fabulous. A very clean outdoor pool with a bar ensures relaxing hours. The beach right in front of the hotel is not the best fore swimming since there is tide during the day. However, the hotel offers a shuttle to a different beach and also free snorkeling on breathtking reefs. We would recommend it to anybody which...
