Firstly let me tell you about the hotel property. It can only be described as beautiful, one large very safe beach with shallow waters. Two other small beeches that are less busy and offer more of a sea breeze. We booked a one bedroom apartment it was perfect and everything you would expect of a Shangri-La, it came with our own butler Sada who to be honest couldn’t do enough for us he was a real credit. There were four restaurants on site a buffet which we only ate breakfast at we didn’t eat there in the evening. A grill on the beach which we enjoyed the food and in my opinion had the most engaging staff out of all of the restaurants. Their was a Japanese and an Indian restaurant too. All of the food was of a high standard. If there was one improvement they could make would be to extend the menus to mirror other Shangri-La menu’s. There is also a restaurant on their island which is a 5 minute boat ride away we had their coveted truffle pizza and some raw fish that was interesting, washed down with a bottle of white or two very enjoyable! If you are a golfer then bring lots of balls lle aux cerfs golf club is very tricky a typical Langer course. Anahita is also available free to guests but I didn’t manage to play it. We ventured out to the north of the island, it is very different and far more lively and touristy but enjoyable. Le Touessrok is quiet resort and perfect if like me you want to switch off and recharge, this is not a party location. I have just enjoyed 2 ½ weeks at the Shangri-La Le Touessrok. Location. The location is out of this world. On a beautiful long beach. My tour guide (Summer-Times Tours) told me, that the hotel is situated on the longest “hotel beach” of all the hotels in the country. Preparing my arrival – Front office staff support I bet both parties felt challenged. I planned my visit in connection with the re-opening og Mauritius, on the back of the Covid lock down. Regardless of the need to ask too many questions, to be safe and prepared for an arrival to another country, the Front Office staff replied patiently and correctly regarding all national admin requirements for foreigners arriving to Mauritius. Fitness facilities. If you are looking for great fitness facilities, which are not stock in a basement or dark corner, this very well-equipped Fitness Centre is overlooking a pool area and has large windows allowing for natural light to flow in. Often debated amongst female guests as a “safe fitness centre”. You do not feel alone, you are not stock in a basement room. Very important. The Fitness Management offers fitness classes throughout the day from early morning. All classes run by professional trained staff. Let me say, on a personal note; Dominique, who was my 07.00 hours trainer made me feel 10 years younger, even though he did one day tell me to stop. “Relaxing is also important” – he is right, still his professionalism makes me smile. SPA The SPA is a nice tranquil area with great staff, who pays attention and soon “reads” their guests’ needs, requirements and wishes. Professional all the way through. Dietary requirements The Chef of “The Republic” restaurant has made sure; I will return next year. I require a daily protein smoothie as part of my battle against an inflammatory condition. I brought my collagen and protein to the restaurant, a smoothie was prepared for me at NO hesitation, served with a wonderful smile – every time! (I wish I could do with the great menu offered, I cannot, and no one made me feel awkward once they had information on my requirements. On the contrary, everyone tried to make me comfortable, regardless of me feeling very humble. I look at the nutritional value of my food before I look to the “fine dining” aspect. I can glance at a plate of food and instantly calculate if it meets my daily needs in terms of protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals. I cannot do “fine dining” for weeks on end. Hence the arrival of very impressive vegetarian dished combining plant protein and fibres had a significant impact on my wellbeing. It also made me confident, a longer stay in 2022 will work well. (I have booked already). I am incredibly grateful and humbled by all the efforts made by The Culinary Director and The Chef at “The Republic.” I can fill a page with words of gratitude. General At hotels, there is often one or two staff, who does not make the mark. NOT here! I am humbled and impressed with all the efforts made by the staff. All your staff goes beyond the call of duty to make each guest feel, we are the only one that matters, the special one, and that is quite the skill. It takes efforts and energy, which all your staff gladly invest in their interaction with guests. I am booked – all this trouble (me) is coming back, I can hardly wait.…
We have the best holiday at Shangri-la and the service was the best thank to CHIEF AHMED , he made our stay very especial and he serves the best “Ful medames” and “beef lasagna” in Mauritius !! and for the service DHARAM is you guy, he’s really friendly and kind and bring your coffee superquick ! For the omelette GINA is the one, she serves the best omelette in Shangri-La. My staying at Shangri-La is must do in Mauritius, very chilling seven star staying which worth the visit and the price.
Fantastic service! Big shout out Raj and Richie from Le Bazar and Sada from Le Frangipani aisle! They made our stay truly special and were so welcoming, hospitable and professional! So hrdworking too! Thumbs up!

This has been our first visit back since our honeymoon 30 years ago. The hotel has changed so much (!) and the warm welcome and outstanding natural beauty have remained. This re-visit was made particularly magical when we were walking around the grounds and happily came across Rosario, who with his wonderful smile and gracious heart showed us the tortoises ( and even gave me a hug when I asked because I was so overwhelmed to rediscover these magnificent animals). Our delight increased when Rosario was our guide through Ilot Mangénie as we learned that there are still new sights to thrill even after all this time. Please -when you visit- find Rosario and share in his knowledge and joy about this hotel and location.
an absolute gem of a property which is outstanding in every single way! The prime asset of this property are the people itself who are always on hand to help! Went with wife and two children and we all enjoyed our time and cannot wait to return! A couple of special mentions for people include Jauhan at the private island who always looked after us each time we stopped by; Rosario who took the time to teach us how to play Boule and also took the extra time to brush up my tennis skills; Nitusha who always went over and beyond at the Kids club in entertaining and keeping our children comfortable and happy and finally the biggest shout out goes out to the one and only Ahmed who is the head chef within Le Bazar! This gentleman is an absolute legend and throughout our stay always made sure everything was spot on! He would always be around checking up on guests and no request was too much for him! There are loads more and apologies i couldn't mention more but this property really has some outstanding special people who are in my opinion are the primary reason to the success of this property! if you want somewhere that is relaxing, luxurious and treats you like royalty then look no further! …
The Shangri-La Hotel is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed at. We had a fantastic weekend there. Our beautiful room overlooking the beach was large, clean and extremely comfortable beds. The beach view from balcony was stunning. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. In particular we would like to mention and thank Aman , Navin , Atish and Rakesh as well as housekeeping teams. They went out their way to make sure we were always looked after, their hospitality is what made the hotel like home. And also all the restaurants were great. A holiday we will always remember ☮️

Shangri-La Mauritius was the final stop of myself and my wife’s vacation, after staying in 2 other premium but different resorts. We spent just 2 days at Shangri-La Mauritius and we were beyond wowed. We experienced true Mauritian hospitality at the activity packed resort and we loved every minute of it. From the welcome reception that opens up to an amazing view, to the care and love given to us by the amazing team here, we really had the time of our lives. I have been to several African Countries as part of a food tour of Africa, which I started 2 years ago, and as a chef, I have been exploring the culinary aspect of countries and the hospitality industry. Shangri-La Mauritius did not disappoint at all. I experienced the best of Mauritian food as well as an array of continental cuisines at the many restaurants offered. The chefs took extra care in giving us a 5 star dining experience. Our room was clean and refreshing. We especially liked the idea of a fully complimentary refillable mini bar and the fact that every room on the property had an ocean/beach view. Our dedicated butlers were also available to take care of every need we may have. The resort also had daily activities both during the day and night. Oh and a private island for guests of the resort only. The Chi Spa was so relaxing too. We enjoyed our treatment Kudos to Andreas, Stacy, Sabrina, Chef Adebia, Chef Szymon, Chef Harry, Chef Omesh and Jauhan to mention a few. We really had an excellent time and we will be back soon.…
