We had booked 5 rooms for 10 people. Our group included couples, singles and the elderly i.e my dad who cannot walk properly. To start off. I must say I had to chase a bit on the phone and emails for confirmation of bookings and such but I completely understand that it was booked in December (one of the busiest month for tourism in Mauritius). I was also unsure of whether to book or not depending on my family's needs and wants. However, all the staff over the phone were very polite, helpful and truthfully did their very best. In the end, Shirley stayed at work late to manage and confirm my booking. After booking, I had made a few secret requests unbeknownst to my wife as I wanted to renew my vows on the beach with her. The hotel was extremely accommodating and did go beyond my expectation. My wife was speechless and said it meant a lot to her. On checking in, Divya was very knowledgeable, patient and gave us an in depth tour of the Hotel. Her colleague Kajal was just as good, checking on us every single day she worked and also catered to all of our small requests. Prathima the food and beverages staff member looked after us and I think was the one to organise my vow renewal ceremony. Her attention to detail was spot on. Lastly the chef Katapermal (still unsure on how to write the name) is honestly a sweetheart. He made us laugh, catered to our food needs, checked on us every single time he was on shift and gave us plenty of options from what was available. Another chef even went out of his way to procure us with things that was not even on the menu or in their kitchen, I tip my hat and respect that dedication. I will however play devil's advocate and say that they did serve prawns to my mom who is allergic but she always double checks her food and they were quick to remediate the situation to change her plate. Mistakes can happen guys but this was a bit of a big one, no hard feelings but just be a bit more careful for other guests. As for my dad, every staff member made space when he was walking, helped him when a family member wasn't there. I did advise the hotel that maybe the restaurant needs a few ramps in the middle of the 3 step stairs or a few more handrails. Hopefully it can be implemented in the future. In terms of hotel facilities, I only wished to practice some water sports which both the wife and I enjoyed. The rest of the family enjoyed the pools, the one overlooking the sea is truly beautiful giving a scenic view of 2 small islands, fisherman and boats. It is a small hotel so do keep in mind that facilities may be affected by the size of the ground, weather and availability. Of course I would recommend anyone to check on the facilities to see if it satisfies what you want to do. We did manage to go into the glass bottom boat before our check out as the previous day it was raining and I must say it was beautiful. We even saw a tortoise eating corals! The staff at the boat house was professional and practiced good health and safety. In terms of food, they do not offer a huge variety variety like other much much bigger hotels but the freshness, quality of ingredients and cookery was perfect. They did put bacon next to the butter on my first breakfast but quickly changed its location after I pointed it out. I can vouch that they built on the constructive criticism and now there was some butter next to the bacon and another knob of butter in another shelf! Nice job. Adding on, the paying restaurant that they have on the beach do work on reservation do guests should do their due diligence to get seats, eating on the sea is truly amazing. I have travelled and gone to a lot of hotels. A lot of high end ones, a few terrible ones and some OK ones but Veranda Paul et Virginie had the best service and staff out of all of them! I truly commend their attitude, professionalism and positivity. Now to tackle another issue on trip advisor from what other guests have said. I am not saying that they are wrong but I would like to help clarify if possible and give an unbiased assessment prior to my recent experience in 2022. Dogs around or in the compound was not an issue. They have improved that the walkways and gates from what I experienced compared to what other users have said. Please appreciate that ALL beaches in Mauritius are public areas and hotels cannot/not allowed to build big walls or very gated compounds from the beach end. Henceforth, you will sometimes, albeit rarely find a dog or cat during your say. I saw a cat and a dog and they were both so cute I nearly died. I did not see an issue there personally. In terms of birds, yes: birds fly around the hotel a lot and yes during breakfast they do chill around the open air restaurant and quite begrudgingly watch you eat. The staff do shoo them away when they become a nuissance but as a specialised microbiologist I can say that the species of birds that roam around do not carry harmful pathogens/diseases. Heck, a house cat has way more parasites and bacteria than the birds and cause way more diseases to pet owners. Furthermore, all of our 5 rooms were very well maintained, clean and smelled soooooo good. So I do believe that they fixed the issues highlighted by some of the other reviewers here. I will however point out that the porches for our rooms could have been cleaned better or more thoroughly but I can also see why they did not want to move my cigarettes, extra chairs and clothes that I left on the porch. Lastly, I would honestly and personally ignore all the 1 star reviews left here. Those are outliers and frankly distasteful and in bad faith. No way this resort should score a 1 star. I made a few acquaintances during my stay and everyone was loving the attention they got. They even got a 60+ year old guest to try windsurfing, she was quite good for a beginner to be honest. I would also like to stress that Mauritians and the Mauritian culture is not very used to politeness and good manners. It is not that they hate guests or foreigners, they are just majorly on the defensive. I tried to be as positive, understanding and loving as possible and damn was everyone just as positive, helpful and loving back. Just communicate any issues asap and in a civil manner and I am sure the Hotel will do their very best. In comparison my family rarely gets good service themselves due to how they approach people in general. It is not out of spite or malice, just that Mauritian people have been oppressed for a long time and life is really hard here for them. Everyone can have a bad day or be stressed with their own issues. Do give them the benefit of the doubt and understand that humans are not perfect. To conclude: Not the biggest hotel or the best looking I have been to nor does it have the best facilities but definitely the best service I have ever gotten so far in my life! I would recommend this place to anyone. I will go back there for a day or half a day if I ever come back just to chat and be pampered by staff. Makes you feel special and loved. It was also great, and I really mean great, value for money. Give the hotel a call directly or email them rather than going through websites and travel agents. A bit more work but worth it. Ps: and I cannot stress this enough. You really shouldn't let Jennifer Wong reply back on trip advisor. There is so much animosity and spitefulness to her approach to criticism. You don't always have to try and be right, Jennifer. No one is attacking you. Everyone experience things differently and you shouldn't try to tell them they are wrong to feel that way. I have never met her but I can already say that if I did meet her at the hotel then the stay would have been different. Please do try and work on it. The customer is not always right but you don't have to make them feel small or stupid.

As a hotel it is absolutely beautiful in terms of design and atmosphere. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. The whole cleaning team is exceptional, the hotel is pristine and your bedroom is well cleaned and daily ordained with a cute towel creature on your bed. The surrounding gardens and pool area are also well designed and kept. As a honeymoon this was an amazing experience where the staff could not have done more for us. There were some standout moments including arranging us a private meal on the beach to celebrate our honeymoon. For this meal we were served by the very gracious and kind waiter Danash, he was definitely one of our favourites, he was always smiling and attentive. We were fortunate enough to go diving and Christina who was based at the hotel was a warm and friendly member of staff who supported us to choose the best dive site. The local food in Mauritius was delicious and we particularly enjoyed the spicy green chilli sauce. The chefs were all terrific and very attentive, in particular chef Katapermal who made us an excellent Butter Chicken Curry and gave us the recipe and a jar of our favourite chilli sauce. Chef Reenoo was also excellent and she allowed us to taste some tasty local dishes, her banana and pineapple jams were delicious and she graciously gave us two jars to take home, she is also a great warm and friendly character. Man who was an excellent waiter provided us with consistent and attentive service throughout our stay, he knows every guest by name and takes time to get to know them and how best to serve them. Excellent personalised service. A final shout out to Sunny on reception who was great to chat to and very quick at helping us with our bags and anything else we needed. Overall, this was an incredible stay and one that we will never forget. Thank you to all of the staff for making our honeymoon so memorable. We would 100% recommend this hotel and the beautiful island of Mauritius. Marie and Martin (Scotland)

From the moment you arrive at the gateway, you are greeted warmly by the security team. Diya and Abraham were very friendly upon check-in; making me feel welcome instantly. The hotel in itself is small and cosy but I must say that it has all the required facilities to make you enjoy your stay at its best. The room is great and spacious. I had a beachfront room and the view over the ocean and the round island is splendid. Lunch at the Saint Geran restaurant is a must as you are able to enjoy good food along with the view on the Gunners Quoin and Flat island. Food for dinner time was as palatable as lunch time. You have a good selection of menu to choose from. Hats off to Hans - the Operation Manager. I also had the privilege of having the hotel manager to host me. The staffs at the buffet restaurant and the main bar are also very attentive and chatty. Elodie is doing a wonderful job and she got such a unique approach in her way of doing things. To finish, the experience at the spa - It was the best I had so far. I have had the chance to go in 4 star and 5 star hotels spa but this one was the best. Jane - the Spa Manager was so meticulous and attentive in her explanations. Nishta or Nitisha - the spa therapist definitely has fairy fingers. The ambiance and atmosphere of the spa cabin is set as per your request and it certainly adds a unique touch to it. I will highly recommend same to everyone. To finish, am much grateful that I have had the chance to visit the VPV and I will certainly come back :)

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at veranda Paul et virginie. We were immediately impressed with such a clean, quiet and beautiful hotel The views as soon as you arrive we re breathtaking and the atmosphere was calm and serene. We were treated so respectfully and the staff couldn’t do enough for you and took time to chat to you each day, offering ideas of where to go, transport and excursions. We enjoyed the full variety of excellent food in each restaurant and the service was impeccable. We went on excursions on a speed boat visiting 5 islands, including ile aux verbs, divine! Also a catamaran trip to the mangrove , snorkelling, turtle, dolphin and flying fish spotting . We enjoyed all free water sports, pedalo, kayak, glass bottom boat and more. Outstanding staff , were Man, constantly ‘tip top’ ! Also, Rohan , little Man! Divya and Katja were also continually helpful and so polite and friendly, we hope to be back and wish you luck through these tough times, you deserve it!

Hi guys just got back today from Mauritius my girlfriend and I stayed at the veranda paul et virginie hotel and spa in grand gaube in Mauritius what can I say the hotel was beautiful staff very friendly warm and welcoming couldn't do enough for you. The hotel has 2 main restaurants and the 1 main bar which was fine as it has 81 rooms is adults only so very quiet it has a gym if u are feeling energetic a spa to pamper yourself 1 large pool and a good size infiniti pool with spectacular ocean views. The food was either buffet style or table service on certain days all of the food was amazing with buffet food for breakfast and if you go all inclusive which we did we get a bar menu and separate pancakes served near the infiniti pool every day entertainment in the evening was good with local dancers or singers performing. There are alot of trips to do on a catamaran boot trip with bbq on a beach on a near by island plus snorkeling cooking courses dolphin trip plus many more. The rooms are really nice all with tea and coffee making facilities air-conditioning with is great as it gets very hot during the day and warm in the evening we had a room with a balcony overlooking the main pool with sea views all the rooms have sea views. There is a souvenirs shop to buy your gifts. The main point I want to get across is that the staff are amazing food amazing views unbelievable excellent value for money for a 4 star hotel we both would go back again but for longer only had a week would like to have done trips nearly forgot to say free water sports included like kayaks windsurfing paddle boarding which I did never done it before very enjoyable and I didn't fall in which was good it has a beach right by the hotel with sundowners and parasols definitely needed with sun was between 30 and 32 degrees every day we were there was so relaxing quiet and unbelievable good just wanted to say thank u to all the staff especially staff members man aka Mr 2 phoenix lol kajar maestro and all of the amazing chefs.
