My girlfriend and I booked this and paid for a room with WIFI and a Balcony with a view (requested specifically). The balcony had an awful view of the back of the building and the WIFI (NEEDED FOR WORK) works only sometimes in this room. We complained and the manager Vanessa who said we could leave if we weren't happy. She said to contact Expedia who we made the booking with. I did and Expedia told me she had already got our money so it was up to her to refund us if we weren't happy. Vanessa then refused to give us back any money at all despite us being very unhappy with the room. There were no other rooms free either she said. Once again she told us we could leave. Needless to say for a 2 star hotel it's not bad value for money for a place to sleep compared to England. But the toilets were dirty and the room door doesn't close properly instead rattling all night if you don't put your suitcase behind it. There was a kettle in the room but no cups or cutlery. The room has very little light coming in so the pictures posted online have been lightened by a LOT to look more friendly and clean and fresh. We were also told that even though there is a fridge in the room we are not allowed food or drink in there. Very strange. The husband of Vanessa, Sérge was more friendly and offered another room with normal light and a proper balcony. But he said it would cost us more than 200 euros extra as this would he considered an "upgrade" Overall I would say this hotel is value for money if you have low expectations and don't mind a dirty bathroom. But don't expect Mautitian hospitality here or to be treated well once you pay in advance. I would not recommend anyone to stay here if you are coming as a couple and want a nice clean place. On the positive side the showers work well even though the sink is too small to bend over and the sink blocks easily. And the doorman Jilet is a lovely man who is warm and friendly.…
Taxi drivers had difficulty finding it because it had changed its name.? We had 2 days there before joining our cruise. They were welcoming, our room was clean and tidy and we had a good breakfast.Very close to the shops, beach and restaurants so ideal for a short stay. Management were helpful and we would stay there again
even our taxi driver could not find this newly refurbished hotel which changed its name recently.(we managed to get completely lost on the first night!). anyway a warm welcome greeted us and having specified twin beds, of which there are none, were given a family room. A spotless swimming pool beckoned below, and there were two sun beds and several chairs. A continental breakfast was served on the terrace and the hotel is within easy walking to Grand Baie itself with its many restaurants and shops. Efficient air conditioning and an efficient fan kept us comfortable at night along with the excellent mattresses. A really good spot for a short stay though I suspect the refurb isn't quite completed in some areas.
Dzama Hotel is located not far from Grand baie " main street " and in a walking distance from 2 shopping mall ! still is possible to walk to the beach and plenty of choice for restaurants !! Owner is a nice person always available and in the morning always present for breakfast ! I'd say everything was good !! the only thing to improve a little ( but not a big deal) is hot water in the room but really not a big deal !
We were the first guests to arrive in this family-run hotel following their 2018 renovation. The room was spacious, light and airy, tastefully decorated and with a large balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was simple but tasty, with coffee, juice, croissants and baguettes with butter and jam. Recommended for couples and families. This is a totally non-smoking hotel, and I was asked to go outside into the street to smoke. Fair enough.
