It has affordable price. The room itself was surprisingly large and clean. On check-in, we were offered a cocktail and in-room hot snacks (the first time a hotel has offered hot snacks, thank you for that!) It's on the main road exactly in the middle of Grand baie and Pereybere. Supermarket, nightlife and restaurants is 10 mins walk from it. There was a drunk extended family who was invasive during my stay. The staff was nice, but unfortunately they made a blunder on my checkout day, which is why I removed 2 stars from them. I did not try it's cuisine. Parking and bus stop is outside. It's not really a hotel, but rather consider it as a place to sleep, you will get bored of the pool after 1 hour. I wish the Owner good luck in modernising the place and respect the engagement it has taken with the guest!…
I really wanted to like this hotel but I can’t. On arrival I asked at least 5 times for a quiet room, I said I don’t want a room above the pool but the hostess told be repeatedly it was ‘very quiet’. It’s not. It’s so loud none of us can sleep for incessant pop music. On the first night I complained to staff who look bemused and only offered me a far inferior room. I’ve no idea who this hotel caters for as it’s not young people or families or couples and they completely ignore you if you ask for a bit of peace and quiet. We’re still here , will keep you informed !
The pool and garden are nice and is obvious the hotel has known some better days. The breakfast was ok, although not a breakfast buffet, which is understandable because there were only about 4-5 people in residence. The breakfast included omelette, yoghurt, bread, butter, jam and fresh bread slices. You could also have juice or tea/coffee on request. The rooms were outdated and had a funny smell from the cleaning products. A more thorough cleaning operation and general freshening up of the whole place would be an improvement. The bed was rather small and had a weak mattress.
Came to stay at this hotel due to the close proximity of Grand Baie, which was where I went to visit my friend who was working nearby. The hotel might seem run down at the front, but the service was great. Really value for money, considering the space of the room I was offered, and all of them working just fine. However, at night we faced some air condition issues and Radha ( I don't know if I spelt it right ) came to my assistance and attempted to fix it, but could not manage to as the maintenance guy has left. That was fine because the next day, the issue was solved and we got the air conditioning back on again. Overall, great stay and I would go back there again if given the chance.
This hotel is at the outskirts of the town and is near to many amenities. We were delighted with the service and friendliness received from management and staff. We were there on a bed and breakfast basis while attending local wedding celebrations. The rooms are large and comfortable. They are grouped in two up, two down houses around the pool. The decor is somewhat dated, but that has its own charm. I recommend this hotel without reservation to people who want a hospitable Mauritian experience.
