Room with single beds was large enough, had kitchenette with fridge, microwave and small oven as well as balcony. Staff was always helpful and cleaning was done every workday. Situated close to the center with a large mall.

A mere 45 minute taxi ride from the airport this retro apartment has it all. 50 paces to your right and you are at one of the funkiest beaches on the island. 100 paces to your left is a new world shopping mall. It's all here. Do again? Yes ***

Situated at Grand Baie this is a budget studio apartment with all facilities you want. Seabeach is just 2 mins walk. Super U mall is just 1 min walk. Besides there many restaurants adjacent to apartment;eg: cocoloko,Lazy dodo, pizza hut, McDonald, KFC,fishaways, happy rajah, Debonair,etc.. They also have a tour agency just below the apartment. Mr. Eric Jeanne is a kind hearted person, always a smiley face. One thing that attracted me was their behaviour. They would look into every aspect.Girls staffs are very helpful and they help you to plan your trip.Prices are very affordable specially Ile aux cerfs by catamaran. They are very professional. Thanks a lot Eric and Team for your wonderful hospitality. I wish to visit with family in near future. I would also recommend others to stay there. apartments worth price.

I have stayed with Eric Jeanne many times before, and hired a car from him as usual. I was staying, on this occasion to attend a family event. Unfortunately, I managed to lock the car with the keys left inside! Eric put me first, driving out to where the car was and thus enabled me to get back to the event - phew! As always, the apartment was fantastic and the drivers who got me to and from the airport were efficient and courteous. I recommend Eric and all at Monalysa highly.

Check-in with Samuella was quick and great. Everything is withing walking distance. Apartment is ok,you get what you pay for. If decorations and curtains are maybe in some cheerful colours then all would look much better and not so old and I would say dirty. Different colours would do a lot. Only problem for us was that window in kitchen doesn't have curtain so if you have problem with day light and sleeping you won't sleep after sun comes out. Bed looks at that window. We woke up everyday in break of dawn so it wasn't so relaxing holiday for us but we were there only 4 nights so we survived ;) Also it's noisy early in the morning from neighbours and street but that's the price for central location.

We rented the 2-bedroom service apartment for 5 days and are happy with its facilities. The staff are very efficient in meeting to any requests, and the car rented from the same company is good and reasonably priced. Great value for the price paid for rental of apartment and car !

Very good service and good location, very close to Super U. Also very helpful and cheap if you want to book one day trip or rent car.

After staying at resort located remote east side (Belle mare), this was nice option for us to choose, since we were planning to dig in to scuba dive for couple of days. Big supermarket named 'Super U' is located right behind, just a 5 minute walk and several restaurants are also in walking distance. Beach is not too far to walk, and you have a tour company operated (Monalysa tour) right downstairs. Actually, one downside was that there is no actual parking lot provided, but they allow us to park the car inside their front yard so it was ok. Room condition was ok, nice air-conditioning and fan, with roomy space for us to put luggages. Bathroom was pretty big, too. Kitchen was fully equipped. If you don't expect too much for this price, you will be happy with the stay. Plus, wifi was pretty fast! Quick uploads and downloads. Probably because there were not many guests while we were staying. :-)

Check-in was quick and painless - almost 09h30 at night but we arranged for late check-in before we arrived. Airport pickup was good and on time. Decent size apartment. Just over a block's walk to almost everything in Grand Bay. We stayed there with our 5 year old daughter and 11 week old baby. They gave us the room right at the top so lots of stairs to climb every time with prams and lots of bags- no lift facilities. We hired a car at a very reasonable rate and we booked Dolphin excursions through Monalysa Tours (the tour operators at the bottom of the building). They even organised a baby sitter for us on the day we did the excursion with the boat. Only recommendations would be: the flatlet can look so much better if the curtains and bedding is upgraded (really horrific), the wi-fi is almost unusable (really frustrating), the bathroom facilities can do with some improvement - the shower curtain rail kept coming off. The pot plants on the porch area really dates the building as well. The cutlery and crockery in the kitchenette is really terrible. nothing uniform and again, by having simple white/uniform crockery etc it will make a massive difference in the appearance of the apartment. We had to bath the baby in a plastic basin as it only had a shower. We decided to rather stay in cheaper accommodation and spend the money on activities outside the room. That is what we did and we don't regret it. We were only in the room for a couple of hours at night. The neighborhood dogs made quite a racket at night but nothing that management can do about that. Oh and allow for extra time for the taxi to take you to the airport. The first driver had no problem going over 80 kms per hour (apparently it is law in Mauritius that taxi busses cannot drive faster than 80 kms per hour) and it took us approx an hour and 15 mins to get to the destination. On our way back we allowed for 45 mins more but the guy didn't want to drive faster than 80 kms per hour so we just about checked in with enough time to get through customs. All in all -you get what you pay for. I'm not sure if there is better value for money on the island but if we return we will definitely consider staying at Monalysa again.

Smack bang in Grand Baie town centre, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars and the Super U hypermarket. Check-in was a piece of cake and the gentleman (I assume he was the owner) who showed me to my studio was very efficient and friendly. The flats are fully equipped but the quality of the furniture and bedding reflects the low price, so don’t expect the last word in luxury. The wifi is slow, to the point of being unusable in the evenings when everyone is connected. The “double bed” is actually two single beds placed next to each other but not fixed and gradually move apart during the night creating a wide gap in the middle of the bed, which can be quite disconcerting! The receptionists are cheerful but lacking in communication skills and don’t speak clearly, which made trying to book an activity a chore. In the end I gave up and went somewhere else. In summary, a good place to stay if you want to explore Grand Baie but are not planning to stay at the hotel all day.
