After 2 days of travel, we finally arrived at Mauritius from the states. Upon arrival at the Westin, we were immediately greeted by two staff members, one helped us unload our luggage and another who valeted the car. We were escorted through the main entrance which had a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean and were seated in the lounge by the bar. We were checked in by another staff member and given two refreshing ice cold glasses of ginger black tea which was a saving grace in the Mauritian heat. After checking in, we did the mandatory COVID testing requirements and were escorted to our room. The room was a beautiful spacious suite on the second floor that overlooked one of the courtyards straight into the Indian Ocean. It had a huge balcony with couches, a hammock chair, and beach loungers. The resort has two pools, restaurants, a lounge/bar, a tennis court, free activities, and more all on site. All of the interactions, big and small, with the staff felt incredibly personalized, sincere, and welcoming. It was THE best hotel experience I have ever had in my entire life. There were so many kind staff that we encountered, like Jameel, Nitasha, Ram, Nancy, Keshav, and so many more that helped make this experience unforgettable. Big thank you again to the staff for excellent service and would highly recommend this resort.…
It has been a pleasant holiday, amazing staffs and service I would like to thanks the team Navin from bar, Ashna and Ram for food arrangements Jameel and aldo from the reception and all the Westin team. Thank you all
95% of the staff are amazing and attentive, but are let down by some who do not know how to make drinks properly. Hotel itself is very clean and the pools are very nice. For a honeymoon and the overall cost i would have expected much better overall however. This drink (see photo) cost just under £10, and the staff must remember that not everyone is all inclusive and arw paying top dollar for cocktails. I could make a better one with my eyes closed. The waiter made a cocktail, smelled it, then threw it. He then used the same glass, re-made it (caiprinha) and put it down looking half made, i was suprised and went along with it but my wife was not happy so i had to send it back for more ice. Honestly this is just really lazy and no attention to detail. See photo, it is very sad! The water bottles in the room are ludicrous. Half of them had a broken metal bottle cap and the only way to open is to stab it with a corkscrew. These should be finger pull but on many the pull had snapped off. Eventually after the 5th bottle like this i cut my thumb open which was inevitable. This is just lazy, i dont mind them re using and re capping bottles but at least use caps that aren’t broken already with sharp metal edges. The aircon in the room wasnt cold enough for me and the room was always too warm, when i asked for a portable fan i was told they had none in the hotel. Pretty annoying when you are too hot at night. Laser sailing boat had a snapped tiller connecting to rudder which makes it fairly useless. They said they couldn’t get a spare part which is odd. £4.80 for a small coca-cola is daylight robbery. For what appears to be a high end honeymoon hotel and paying for high-end service, and having stayed at many 5 star resorts costing much much less than this hotel i was expecting much better. The quality of drinks (cocktails) for the price were especially poor and they really should look at this. Thankfully our honeymoon was saved as the second week we stayed at a far superior hotel, Paradise Cove in the North who truly understand 5 star service.…
Have just returned from probably our best holiday ever. The hotel was superb. All the staff were so friendly and efficient. Just couldn’t fault the service in any way. We were spoiled for choice when it came to food. Buffet style was one option for all meals was of the highest standard. The only problem was self discipline as it was all so tempting. The other restaurants also excellent. We didn’t have one poor meal in our ten days. Can’t recommend highly enough.
The Westin Turtle Bay has the best hospitality I have ever experienced. I have a gluten allergy and from the second I stepped foot into the resort the head chef ensured that I was well looked after and went out of his way to ensure that my experience matched the culinary experiences of those around me! The chefs would meet me at the start of every meal to discuss how they could alter any meal on their menu to be gluten free - I’m taking pancakes, pasta, pizza and even deserts! My stay was phenomenal and I cannot recommend this resort and it’s staff enough.
