This B&B has two suites located at the bottom of the owner's large house. The one we stayed in was very spacious, and a second bedroom we didn't even use. The owners were very friendly. The couch was comfy, and they had an amazing satellite with tv (great for crashing at the end of the day)... the place is in a great location - easy trip to Greenwich park which has a c great beach... a little down the road to Montague for some groceries when we wanted them... also, if you look hard enough, we were able to find some private beaches with amazing scenery with only a few other people on them at the most. Staying here was part of an amazing trip! Highly recommended.

We stayed in the larger front bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, large closet with fridge, and a very comfortable bed. The house was immaculately clean and the bedroom was well furnished. Breakfast was included and Elizabeth's scones were delicious. The table was set beautifully and we were served a breakfast with plenty of variety. We only stayed one night in the area but could have stayed longer as it is close to Cavendish, Charlottetown, Greenwich Dunes and St. Peters Bay is a nice small community with some great little shops and summer theatre. Would highly recommend this very reasonably priced B&B. Thanks to Doug & Elizabeth for making our short stay so enjoyable.

Bicycled to the property; excellent facility and very helpful hosts. Well suited for bicycle guests. Outstanding breakfast, particularly the fresh baked cinnamon rolls. We rode bikes into town for dinner and it began to rain. Elizabeth called the restaurant and had them tell us that she and Doug would pick us (and our bikes!) up so we didn't have to ride back in the rain. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend the property.

Thank you for your kind review. This year we have hosted more cyclists than ever before. When it is raining we do not like to see our guests riding in the wet. They have already spent a lot of time in the saddle and it only takes a few minutes to take them to a local restaurant.Glad you enjoyed Elizabeth"s baking Doug

My family went to St Peter's Bay for my daughter's wedding, My extended family also booked suites and cabins at Cable Head, I was very disappointed at the treatment we received, two younger people of our party did not eat breakfast or drink coffee, they were offered a glass of OJ, when they asked for another glass, Elizabeth rolled her eyes at them and begrudgingly gave it to them, made them both feel uncomfortable.
suite has 2 bedrooms, but apparently only one couple is allowed to stay in them ????
my daughter showered in my room, both Elizabeth and her husband became very agitated, and became rude, we offered and paid for her to have the shower as it became very uncomfortable, ( my daughter was a guest at the B&B,
next there was some markes on the towels, one I know was make-up, the other I am assuming was hair dye from my daughter's hair, Elizabeth and her husband became hostile, we offered $30.00 for the towel, but Elizabeth was rude and hostile and we felt we could not remain at the B&B although we paid for another night, they did not offer a refund. Very disappointed as we were there for such a joyous occasion. The accomadations were good, but the behaviour of the owners were rude and ignorant. would never recommend staying there

Thank you for reviewing our accommodation. We are mystified by the orange juice comments. Coffee and orange juice are always refilled upon request. Our 2 bedroom suites are not for just 2 people but up to 6. Initially 2 people booked into the suite, The daughter and the boyfriend stayed in the suite with her grandparents for the last night. We were surprised that they did not shower there. After the grandparents and the 2 young people checked out the daughter and her boyfriend came back early in the afternoon at approximately 1:00 pm and decided to use the mother's shower in a room that is designed for 2 people. Housekeeping changes the towels every day in the rooms but were asked for additional towels for the 2 young people. The 2 bath towels were badly soiled apparently by the daughter removed red hair dye and makeup. We did not ask our guests to leave. They had booked up to 11:00 am the next day. They decided to leave and the room sat empty overnight. We are sorry they did not enjoy their stay more. We have been operating for 21 years and work hard to make our guests visit a pleasant experience.

My Mother and I recently stayed in the Executive Cottage for a week. The cottage was great two bedrooms with a double bed in each bed room and a pull out couch in the main room. The cottage is located on a grassy air strip runway (don't worry we didn't see any planes) so there is very little traffic and very few houses/cottages on the road the cottage is on... we saw one car drive by the entire week we were there. The cottage feels very private and remote, too remote for my Mother as she likes to meet and talk to other travellers and socialize and bit.

It was rainy and cool most of the week but we were very comfortable in the cottage... however the two days the sun came out in the afternoon the cottage was very hot as there is no air conditioning but they did have fans. The cottage had a BBQ, and nice deck however it was IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy it because of the mosquitos even with bug spray on and citronella candles burning you could not stay outside. In fact we tried three different kinds of bug spray, mosquito repellant bracelets and the mosquito fan and none of them worked (we spent $50.00 buying things to try to enjoy the outside of the cottage). It was so bad that it was uncomfortable even coming and going from the car to the cottage. When you did come in from outside a swarm of bugs would come in the cottage with you and it would take an hour to kill them or spend the night getting bitten by bugs while your sleeping.

We stayed in the cottage for a week and found that we quickly exhausted things to do in the local area and ended up travelling a lot to Charlottetown (30 min drive) and Brackley Davey beach (50 min) with their paved biking trails and to Cavendish (1 hour 10 min) which also had paved bike trails and the gravel trails in the area were more packed down and easier for the beginner cycler. They just put new gravel on the Confederation Trail in St. Peters while we were there and I found it extremely difficult to cycle on it as a beginner. The next time we would stay in a more central location in PEI and do a day trip to St. Peters and Greenwich National Park.

Thank you for your review of our Executive Cottage. We are glad that you enjoyed it. We are sorry that you found it private and quiet. This is one of its best selling features. It is to bad that it was cool and cloudy for most of the week but you did get a couple of days of sunshine. We all complained about those cloudy days but now we are back to lots of sunshine. There are more mosquitoes around this year as there are anywhere on the east coast because of the winter that we had. None of us like the bugs but there are inexpensive bug sprays that are very effective. I have found those citronella candles to be of little use. I am surprised you found little to do in the area, We have people staying for two weeks and longer who come back again to see all the attractions here on the east end of the Island. I wish I had talked to you about the Confederation Trail. I am a trail officer and on the trail almost every day. The new surface you found in St Peters Bay only extends for about 1 km west and then the riding surface for the next 10 km into Morell is hard packed.Parts of the trail suffered winter damage but our maintenance dept. has done a great job repairing any problem areas. Thanks for taking the time to give a s review.

The best thing I can say about this B&B was that the breakfast was very nice. There was a very uncomfortable atmosphere and we did not feel welcome. There was no communal room where guests could relax and chat to each other. We got the impression that we had to stay in our bedroom the whole time. The bathroom towels were very small and there was quite a bit of road noise. Elizabeth should not be in this business or maybe she has been in it too long. Doug on the other hand was very personable and friendly and for his sake we are reluctantly writing this report. We have received such a warm and friendly reception from all the other B&Bs on Prince Edward Island, this was such a contrast.

Thank you very much for your comments. We are sorry that you did not feel welcome. We try to make a point of letting all our guests know that they can make use of our home. Some of our guests take their computers out to the dining room table and take advantage of our free WiFi connection or play cards and board games. Other guests bring back take out meals and eat in the dining room and we supply fresh tea or coffee for them. Some of our guests play Elizabeth's grand piano. Around the house there are 4 picnic tables and BBQs that are always available for guest use. Guests are always welcome to use of our kitchen to prepare bag lunches or reheat food in our microwave oven. And, we are always available to assist with trip planning for the next leg of the journey, Although each accommodation is equipped with its own satellite TV, no one is expected to stay in their room for the whole evening. Doug and Elizabeth

Recently returned from PEI, most places we stayed the hosts were friendly, the cottages were very nice. Sadly, this was our most expensive stay and also our least favorite. We booked this place for its location and because we had read favorable reviews (although the majority of those were for the cottage or the B&B rooms. The uncomforable feelings started with our arrival--where we were chastised for not knowing where to park (nothing marked, so we parked next to another car.) Nothing noting where we were to check-in. Couldn't find our host. Were chastised for many things. We had asked about getting lobsters to eat at our place, the message was clear...try to eat it at a local restaurant, or at least buy it cooked already. We wanted to cook it and eat it at our lodging, so we decided against it. We stayed in one of their 2 BR 'efficiency suites' which they advertised as being for those who wanted more privacy or would like cooking facilities. These efficiencies are roomy enough...but are located as an add-on to their laundry room and basement. We definitely had the feel of being in their cellar. Our 'private' entry door was used by our hosts to go out for walking their dogs, so if we wanted privacy in our space, we had to draw the curtains. The place was decorated nicely enough. The bathroom was not the best...the towels were threadbare and skimpy. We were not relying on them supplying shampoo and soap, which was a good thing, because they had out bottles of shampoo and conditioner that were previously used, and partially emptied...YUCK. The toilet needed some repairs...didn't flush well, had to have very long arms to reach for the toilet paper. The kitchen and sitting area are one open space with thin rubber-backed carpeting on them. We felt it was damp and musty the entire time. While Elizabeth, who we mostly dealt with, was not as warm and friendly as we had hoped, Doug her husband was very friendly and warm. This place is in a great location if you want to go to Greenwich, which we did. There are not many places near there to stay...but while we will come back to Greenwich, we wil not stay at Cable Head again.

I stayed one night at Cable Head, in one of the efficiency suites with two friends, while on a cycling tour of Prince Edward Island. We had actually run into Doug, the proprietor, on the Confederation Trail near Morell, and he was already offering help to us there! He gave us directions, helped us find the liquor store and carry the beer (!), and picked up our dinner from the take-out place after we arrived. The B&B is just out of town (sadly for cyclists at the end of the day, up a hill, but not a long one), in a very lovely location with lots of space, and nice views. The two efficiency suites downstairs are clean and spacious: each with two bedrooms, bathroom, large living area with kitchen and table, and patio outside. We luxuriated in all that space. A couple traveling with us shared a comfortable bedroom up on the main floor of the house, and joined us in one of the suites for dinner. The breakfast was great and filling for our last day of riding, out to East Point. We all wished we could have stayed longer.

Had a great time at Cable Head B&B. Elizabeth and Doug were friendly, breakfasts were delicious, room was clean and comfortable. Felt more like family than visitors.
Musts to do in the area...Walking the boardwalk, trails and dunes/beach at Greenwich National Park, biking the Confederation Trail to Morrell, driving the coast road to explore East Point lighthouse. Had a great time!

While the location of this B&B was nice (very close to Greenwich), the 2 bedroom suite we stayed in was damp and musty and it was quite obvious there was a lot of tension with the hosts.

Breakfast was extremely awkward while being leaned and told not to put glasses on the wooden table since it'll make rings (to both the adults and children), the hosts disagreeing over how the coffee was made (it flowed over) and just general sadness...are just a few things. My impression was this is not a profession the hosts enjoy and I suggest getting a plastic table cloth to ease up on the stress :-\

Expensive B&B for what it has to offer.

Thank you for your review of our property. Our suites are not located in a basement as we do not have a basement, but at ground level, which is our first floor and the B&B rooms are on the second floor. In regards to dampness, the day you were here we experienced heavy rain and high humidity. The suites have a state of the art Fujitsu HVAC unit along with a plasma air filter. Unfortunately our guest turned the unit off preventing it from extracting the humidity. In regard to the coffee making, Doug inadvertently took the coffee pot off the machine to serve a guest while it was still dripping. Elizabeth called to him to alert him so that he could put the pot back until the coffee was finished brewing. Our guest seems to interpret the clumsiness on Doug's part as tension. We have been 20 years in the B&B business serving thousands of guests and we very much enjoy what we do. Thank you again for your review. Doug and Elizabeth
