This is a con't of a review cut short for space constraints. The close proximity of Mountain Brook to almost endless hiking, walking, canoeing, skiing, sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, breweries wineries, etc. is an added bonus. Keep in mind that after Labor Day, the hours of operation of many places are reduced. More importantly, the staff at Mountain Brook couldn't be nicer, friendlier or better at their craft than Sandra, Ryan, Nicole, Marley and Isabella. There are more staff but we did not learn their names. All Excellent! Sandra the hotelier and her husband Ryan (the innkeepers) are genuinely great people that we had the pleasure of getting to know and spend time with, to a point that I think we feel like we made new friends. It is clear to see that they love what they do. We were unfortunate that it rained most of the time that we were there but yet with the help of Sandra, Ryan and Nicole's endless supply of suggestions for things to do, we never felt like we were short changed on our trip. In fact it gives us an additional reason to want to return. We cannot over emphasize the genuineness of Sandra, Ryan and Nicole as we feel like we've known them for a long time. We were present to witness a pair of guests that were a very difficult couple, they had it set in their minds to not be satisfied. This was another area where Sandra showed her professionalism. Won't go into detail, but she is very good at what she does. We truly can't wait to return

We had a great time staying at this cozy, beautiful wood style building while skiing Hunter mountain. Great breakfast was served. Just sitting by the fireplace or playing one of the many games they have in another area by the lobby contributed to a fun off skiing hours. There’s coffee, free drinks and snacks 24/7. Price - what a find!

We were looking for a place for a few days last minute. I found Mountain Brook on line, and was lucky enough to land a room. They only had a "standard" room left, and I figured this is fine, since we will only be sleeping and showering there. The exterior of the place is rustic, but the rooms were a very nice surprise. Their "standard" room was beautiful, and like a mini suite (rm 9) The place was spotless, the staff very friendly, and the place very cozy and comfortable. Restaurants are hard to find on a Monday or Tuesday, but plentiful the rest of the week. The place has several places to relax on the deck or fire pits. Snacks and refreshments are there 24/7, and a great breakfast in the AM. I'm not usually this laid back. The peacefulness of the place and area, and the multiple hiking trails nearby kept me in chill mode for a few days! As soon as we arrived home, I booked another few nights in the fall to see the changing colors of the leaves.

Honestly the previous reviews did not do Mountain Brook Justice. We traveled with our dog during off season. It was our first trip upstate from Brooklyn. It took us just under 3 hours from the city, which was very reasonable for our dog. Accommodations- Mountain Brook's rooms and facilities are very clean and more modern than depicted on their website. I'm particular about bathrooms at hotels and I'm taking time to upload images, our bathroom was perfectly clean and updated. I appreciated that the shower had great pressure and temperature control. The staff was very friendly and available most hours of the day. We appreciated the very cute welcome package for our dog that was set in the room the day of arrival. The daily breakfasts were of great quality and changed daily. There is a great fire pit that's lit every night, with s'mores and blankets available at your disposal. There's also a cute game room with snacks and beverages available at any time for guests. On site parking. Also there are a few different buildings on the property, allowing guests to plenty of distance. I'm aware that our building was pet accommodating while the main house and perhaps other areas were without pets. Mountain Brook is located in Tannersville, a very cute town with a walkable Main Street. There are a number of dining options in the area, however you should note that hours are limited during the week in the off-season. We were limited with dining options as we stayed Monday - Thursday, but it was not difficult to make things work. Mountain Brook is just up a small hill from the Main Street and is very walkable. There are a number of dog friendly hikes and activities a short car drive away. We were able to swim with our dog at the lake, as well as hike to a nearby water hole with cascading waterfalls. Hunter Mountain is just 8 mins drive away. We were less impressed with this area but again, off-season. There are a number of breweries in the area, and a few locals informed us that there are a great selection of live music and activities available in the surrounding Hudson Valley area on weekends. I highly recommend a short trip to Tannersville if you're looking for a relaxing stay outside of the city. Must love nature.

The views from Mountain Brook are expansive and green. The staff was pleasant and seemed to care about guests welfare. The breakfast was unusually good, especially for those not interested in the usual fast food breakfast.

Had the most amazing stay. Room was beautiful, immaculate with a warm cozy fireplace. Great lending library, with a couple of games including Ms. PacMan, small Foosball table and shuffle board table. Breakfast was awesome and not to be missed. We picked up a pizza for dinner from the diner down the road. Michelle is wonderful. She set us up a fabulous little table with plates, silverware & water, everything we needed and more. Was a wonderful getaway. Pizza from the diner was delicious!

We loved this hotel! Very quaint and charming, with many creature comforts of home. Complimentary snacks and beverages in the lobby. Local beer and canned cocktails available in the bar. And a great B&B style breakfast was included with our stay. Eco friendly too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Mountain Brook Provides a wonderful taste of the Hudson Valley.

My partner and I came for a winter ski weekend and had a great time! A ten minute drive from Hunter Mountain, a game room with complimentary snacks, the most incredible homemade breakfast every morning, an electric fireplace and a bathtub with jets! Michelle at the front desk was so kind and welcoming. We would love to come back!

If I could rate a place more than 5 stars this would be it. What a wonderful stay we had at this establishment. The hotel itself is rustic and charming as were the rooms. Everything was clean and in perfect working condition and the furnishing were unique and comfortable. But what really this place apart was the staff. Ryan (the Innkeeper) was incredibly friendly and welcoming as were the staff (Tessa, Chloe, Nicole and Michelle in particular). The warm breakfasts were a treat each morning (and SO tasty - our favorite was the Almond French Toast). And everyone was helpful in helping us plan out our daily activities (for us hiking and snowshoeing). If back in the area this will be where we stay. Highly recommended!!!

Looking for a place to get away? this is the place. The stress will melt off of you as soon as you turn into the drive! Excellent service and such a friendly staff. Just sit back and relax in one of the outdoor seats around a fire pit (smore’s packages included!), or chill on the patio and gaze at the mountain scenery. Such a wonderful place. One note for more “senior” visitors; if your eyesight is a bit challenged, have a bright flashlight for your room. Ours was a wonderful room but the lighting was warm and somewhat dim (romantic). Was great until you’re trying to read which prescription bottle you have in your hand! LOL But don’t let that stop you from seeing Sandy and her staff at the lodge, we had a great two day stay!
