Property's Favourite Review
What a gem! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were somewhere very special. The Innkeepers were welcoming and attentive and the room and property were beautiful. We loved the 'mountain lodge' decor throughout, especially our room. The many windows in our room provided lots of natural light and plenty of cool, fresh air for sleeping. One of the best continental breakfasts we've encountered anywhere plus a tasty warm dish made to order. They set two fires every evening- one in the outdoor fireplace and the other in a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs. They even provide everything you need for the perfect 'Smores. The town is just minutes away by foot with a couple of really good dining options. Our favorite is a restaurant called Tabla. Another easy, casual option is Mamma's Boy Burgers.

If what you need is a first-rate immersion in nature that’s close to NYC, spend a couple of days at the Mountain Brook. Perfectly positioned in the Catskill Mountains, this hotel delivers an authentically local B&B cabin style experience in its setting, decor, personalized service and rates, but it’s run with hotel-caliber standards, sophistication and attention to detail. The two women who own and operate this endlessly charming place are from Brooklyn, bringing their acumen and hospitality finesse 100 miles north. Michelle at the front desk strikes a balance in creating a super relaxed vibe that’s professionally polished.
The interior design of the rooms delightfully capture the spirit of the environment with playful juxtapositions of colors, patterns, textures, materials and whimsical accents. An excellent breakfast is included and served in the rustic dining room or can be enjoyed out on surrounding patio spaces, which are tastefully appointed in cozy, quality furnishings.Everything feels brand new and immaculately maintained.
There are S’mores at the fire pit, board games, and a wonderful little library to enjoy before or after your nature hikes in the nearby trails and parks. Main Street, just down the road, has some good BBQ eats and home made ice cream that make the experience complete.

+1
After looking over numerous AirBnB places and other lodges, I selected Mountain Brook as our place (couple age 40 & 43, skiing and snowboarding trip) to stay. It was a little pricier than most of the AirBnB rooms but I felt that the cost was well worth it. Mountain brook is within Tannersville town very close to restaurants and bars. It is also only about an 7-8 minute drive to Hunter Mountain so checked all the boxes of 1) Being close to Hunter 2) nice facilities and 3) breakfast. They offer complimentary beverages as well, sodas, water, seltzer as well as coffee, hot coco, tea. This is helpful if you don't feel like going to the local Tops grocery. There is a library with board games where you can hang out. Had a great night staying up and playing cranium and sipping our whiskey (our own) Definitely not a party hotel but that isn't what we were looking for so it fit perfect. I recommend it for any couple or small group family looking for a lovely weekend at high quality. Two Thumbs up and we will be back again!! Next time will try the private suites. :0)

I'm a bit perplexed at the reviews but perhaps my expectations where a bit high. If your looking for a B&B to rest your head, wake up for a great breakfast and depart for the day this is your place. If you have a pet, this is your place as pets are welcome in all areas of the establishment. The main space and rooms are clean and well kept. Breakfast is definitely a level above the rest with multiple choices which do appease the pallet. Staff is friendly for sure. So why did it fall short; the pictures and description are definitely misleading, the rooms shown on the website are oversized upgraded rooms, (this is just a word of caution nothing more) the superior room, which we stayed in do not have a sitting area besides a single antique chair (sorry a single antique chair is not a sitting area, a small 27" TV and are separated by very thin walls. (My wife and I felt like we had to whisper not to disturb anyone). The private balcony is insulting at appx. 5' wide x 3' deep and is situated next to the common area of the other rooms (how is that private) Definitely cannot spend hours in the room if you wanted to just relax. A jetted tub is your normal 5' bathtub with jets. What they call a lodge is truly not a lodge but more a large home like establishment which contains a small sitting area for 2 people, master indoor fireplace, which can accommodate a single family which is directly, across from an 8 table dining area. Outdoor fireplace is at the end of the main building. As far as location, you are in a good spot near most things they list. In summary I would not deter anyone from the place but would nudge you to make sure it's what your looking for.

Couldnt ask for a better accommodation at Catskill. The location is just a short walk from the main st where a lot of restaurants are found. The rooms are very cozy and clean. The staff are helpful and hospitable - Terrence even chatted with us at the front desk before our check out. And the breakfast is excellent! Aside from the fact that the food is scrumptious, they even include a surprise dessert with your order!

This property is incredible. We live in NYC and drove up to the Catskills for a nice weekend getaway. I could not be more impressed by this hotel. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, the rooms are absolutely stunning with fireplaces and lodging decor, the grounds are just beautiful, multiple seating areas perfect for 2020 social distancing. Walk to Main Street or take your vehicle and find easy parking, driving distance to trails, creeks, lakes etc. look no further - Catskills Gem right here! We can’t wait to come back!

I don’t usually leave hotel reviews, but this cute lodge was amazing. My room was so cute and had a working gas fireplace and super comfy bed, every single staff member was absolutely lovely and helpful. The included breakfast was SO GOOD and it had multiple hot options (custom omelets and French toast), unlike many places that just offer yogurt, cereal etc. It’s super close to a lot of awesome hikes and the staff can give recommendations too, and it’s a half hour from Woodstock which is a bigger town with great restaurants. Will definitely be back here!!

I was so happy to find this gem right near Hunter Mountain. My one night stay there really made my short ski getaway a treat. The room was cozy as can be with a fireplace and jacuzzi, and the main guest area has two fireplaces, books, boardgames, complementary coffee & soft drinks, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. To top it off, the included breakfast is AWESOME.

Simply lovely! Centrally located n the Hunter Mountain region. Lots of parking. Rooms are homey, clean, and well furnished. Bed was very comfortable. Ours had a gas fireplace and a little balcony with a table and chairs. Direct TV & mini fridge. Great shower pressure. Too many amenities to name. Free coffee, tea, soda , and snacks available 24/7. Microwave available 24/7. Game room. Fire pit with free smore ingredients. Lap blankets. Breakfast is served with care (indoor and outdoor dining). Lots of options as well a daily special and home baked treats. The quiche was delicious. The innkeepers and their assistants will do anything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying at the Mountain Brook any season of the year.

This was my third time staying at Hotel Mtbrook. The minute you walk in, you will feel peaceful and relaxed. Marley greeted us at the front desk and was very helpful during our stay, answering all our questions and making us feel welcomed. The breakfast here is to die for! We met one of the innkeepers at breakfast (Ryan) and he made the best Denver Omelette ever! He took the time to chat with us. There is a fire pit as well as a fireplace on the grounds and a kit to make s'mores. It should be noted that the TV service is very limited and sometimes you will not get a signal. There are plenty of books, DVDs, board games as well as foosball in the main area if you want to grab a book/DVD and take it back to your room. Nearby is Kaaterskill falls, Platt Cove preserve (waterfall) and an aboretum. I don't know what it is about this place, but it is a different experience than any other place I have stayed. Love coming here!

Not sure. I did not see any guests with pets.
They have free standing cabins on the grounds.
