We stayed here in 2019 and had a wonderful experience, the servive, ammenites and comfort of the mattress/pillow was great. Now 3 years later, a few things gone downhill.

We had a smaller room despite it being a king size, there was only 1 side table for example, so if two people are sleeping in the bed one of them will not have any room to place anything on a table, and won't have their own reading lamp or switch which can be quite annoying.

The mattress we got 3 years ago was a firm spring type mattress and this time it was a lump cloud mattress that was extremely soft and sunken in. I previously had some thin pillows to choose from and this time we only had thick ones which were far too high for my head.

Due to covid, there is a lack of service - the rooms are only cleaned upon request, even at check in, we noticed our bathroom was lacking many towels. Very small bath towels, no bath mat and no face towels. I realised that the lobby did have a shelf with some supplies we could take for ourselves but this should have been told to us at the beginning as it is only when I hopped in the shower, I realised what was missing.

Overall comfort is down - it is unfortunate that not all rooms have the same beds or layout. If you are paying for a king room you would expect to receive the same type of room but it was significantly smaller than our last stay.

Another drawback was also the lack of breakfast, this facility use to serve a delicious hot breakfast before covid but there is no absolutely no food served now. There is self serve coffee in the lobby and that's all.

Sadly for similar price I'll book elsewhere next time as the experience is really inconsistent.

I had a planned surgery and had to be at the nearby hospital at 6a.m.! My husband and I spent the night before the surgery. Due to Covid he was not allowed to visit me until 2p.m.. The Parkview is literally a half mile or 3 minute ride to the Hospital! The Parkview has a special rate for patients but you need to call directly and request! The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious! It was a big plus to know we were in a nice quiet room, so less stress! The front desk staff very friendly in person and on the phone! I ended up staying in the hospital and they held the room for my husband! I would definitely recommend even if your visit is strictly pleasure!

I stayed for two nights and would highly recommend the Parkview Hotel for a relaxing experience. The staff was very friendly and acommodating. I was fortunate enough to have a very spacious room with a comfortable king size bed, a separate chair and ottoman for watching tv, and a kitchen with a microwave, dishes, and a sink.

I booked a room directly with this hotel for Syracuse University family weekend. I received a confirmation email and they had successfully put through a charge on my credit card to verify the account. I received an email the next day saying that they won't honor my confirmed reservation- that their system was overloaded so I should just go to Expedia to find a new hotel room. Syracuse hotels fill up VERY fast for family wekeend and there is also a conference happening that weekend, so to find out a day later that I need to find another hotel room put me at a major disadvantage. They did not offer to call other hotels on my behalf as a professional courtesy, they literally just said sorry, go find another place. Am dumbfounded by the lack of customer service. I was able to secure another hotel room but I now have to pay $1,374 instead of the original booking I had for $613. I have been in situations before where a hotel I was staying at had an overbooking situation but they took responsibility for thier error and they called on my behalf to local hotels to secure other accocomations at a comperable rate. This hotel didn't go the extra mile to rectify thier mistake, even when asked, am disappointed and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel. The room was spacious and clean. In the lobby there is free coffee and tea plus help yourself to extra towels and free toothpaste, shampoo etc.

The shower was very nice but the one thing that was missing was an extra table or counter in the bathroom to put my clothes and toiletries on. It’s a big room so there’s space to add one.

Parking was free and convenient

Do not book through their site! We booked a room online directly through the hotel’s site, not through a third-party booking service. I received two email confirmations for the correct date and address, and saw a small charge on my credit card that I presume was them checking the validity of the account. Upon our arrival, I am told there is no booking under my name or phone number. I then give my confirmation number from the emails, and am told there is no booking with this code. I am told to call “their website” (which is a 1-800 number not listed anywhere in the booking or webpage). I call this number only to be told there is no booking with this code, and that I should talk to the hotel directly. The hotel tells me I’m out of luck and they have no rooms available. I’m now forced to look for another hotel to check into the day of. I found another hotel with availability that cost me twice as much. I’m utterly stunned because I received confirmations (twice!) that I had a room booked, only to show up in Syracuse with no where to stay and an apathetic “sorry” from the front desk. Unbelievable. Do not book here if you expect to actually stay the night.

Received an email in the middle of the night that the Parkview will not honor our paid-for reservation for tonight. They suggested a nearby hotel. They paid no attention to our reservation, because the hotel they recommended we stay at instead is not pet-friendly, and we clearly indicated that we are traveling with our dog.

I’ve traveled around the world for 40 years, and this is the first time a hotel has simply decided not to honor a reservation (made months ago). The last-minute nature of their cancellation made their action even more heinous.

If you want to be assured of a hotel room, I cannot emphasize enough that you should not make any plans to stay at the Parkview.

We visited Syracuse for the first time for a concert at the Carrier Dome. The hotel was in a good location - close walk to some good cafes and restaurants and also close enough walk to the stadium. While there wasn’t anything to rave about, the hotel had friendly staff and met our needs. Room was spacious with conveniences of mini fridge and small microwave, free parking was convenient and there was a decent, small gym. The room wasn’t spotless when we arrived and it looked tired and could use a refresh (eg light not working; peeled paint; etc). That said, the stay was comfortable enough.

Horrible experience. Booked a room for 4 through Priceline months in advance. We got there after midnight from a late flight, tired and wanting to go to bed. The lady at the desk informed me that they were fully booked and the only thing they could do was give us 2 rooms on 2 different floors. I was the only adult so there was no way I was splitting up my kids like that. The lady said there was a glitch in the system? She was apologetic but there was another employee (?) sitting on a step near her saying "yeah everything's booked" in a less than kind tone.
So we had to scramble last minute to find somewhere to stay. We got no apology from a manager. Will NEVER stay there again.

I have stayed at the Parkview several times in the past and always enjoyed my stays. I won't be staying again. Due to last minute changes, I called the day I was set to arrive to change my reservation from a king bed to two full beds. I was told the change was made but when I arrived it had not been done and there were no rooms available. Fortunately I was able to switch rooms with one of the other members of my group. The next day as we came in and out, the front desk clerk was sleeping at the desk the entire time. To make matters worse when we got back to the hotel after dinner, the lobby smelled of smoke and the clerk was nowhere to be found. As we looked around the smoke was getting worse so one of our group called 911. It seems that a toaster oven caught fire in the kitchen that the hotel doesn't use to serve guests. The next day the lobby still smelled of smoke. I would think the hotel would have brought in a company to thoroughly clean the area. It sewms like the current hotel mamagement's standards aren't the same as in the past. It's a shame.

No, BUT the staff is friendly and will arrange a ride through one of the local cab companies for you. just give them the time and place.
Answer from Hotel Skyler
Syracuse, New York
Armory Square is a little less than a mile away, typically a 15 to 20 minute walk. Apart from the heavy traffic downtown it is safe to walk around town. Our complimentary shuttle is also an option, it runs from 7am to 10:45pm daily on a first come first serve basis. Our shuttle goes to the airport, train/bus station, SU Campus & downtown Armory Square, generally it is fairly easy to get on the shuttle but during the busy season in the summer as long as you give us a 10 to 15 min heads up we can accommodate nearly everyone.
Answer from Hotel Skyler
Syracuse, New York
Yes we do have a shuttle to the SU campus, our shuttle runs on demand from 7am-10:45pm every day. However during Football or Basketball games our shuttle does not go to SU due to heavy traffic.
