The B & B is just lovely! Décor is in the 1708 period. Decorated beautifully for Christmas. Nice to just explore the downstairs. Beautifully decorated breakfast table. There are plenty of very nice goodies for a snack.

Thank you for your very complimentary review. So glad you enjoyed our property and that you were able to visit Southampton during the holiday season, a time when the village and The 1708 House shine. We look forward to having you as guest in the future!

My husband and I stayed at 1708 for a weekend winter night getaway. It was lovely in every way. Some B&B's tend toward the "too quaint", "too precious", but that was not the case here. Rather the house has great old bones which have been well preserved to enjoy. Not fussy. We stayed in a room in the rafters on...

I have stayed here in number of times over the years even though it is very expensive ($400-500 a night). There are a few other options for lodging in South Hampton Village so even though we were never totally thrilled, we kept coming back. The owner and manager are a bit curmudgeonly if you ask me. The owner is very...

This review is totally unjustified, unfounded and libelous. We have reported it to Trip Advisor. The facts are: 1. Unfortunately, under Trip Advisor guidelines, reviewers can write whatever they want since it is viewed as a “subjective opinion”. This review is not just, fair or factual and we want Trip Advisor readers to read the truth of the matter. 2....

We had to leave a nearby b and b in water mill due to the conditions of the b and b. This am we called 1708 house and they let us check in at 12 pm. They management here could not have been more welcoming and professional. It's even better than it looks online. Perfect location. Everything is well thought...

This is a lovely B&B right off Main Street so you can walk anywhere. Very convenient. We were able to meet the owner who gave us the history of the Inn. Invited us to go down and see the wine cellar which was very interesting.. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room. It is considered a continental breakfast, but...

1708 Southampton New York USA 1. Booking: I made this booking over the www after reading all of the reviews available (see comment about other reviews below). The email contact and one telephone call to ensure 1708 had what we were looking for went smoothly and a very professional experience. Later when I needed to have some computer equipment delivered...

Here you'll enjoy elegance without glitz, charm without attitude, and style without pretense. The owner, Skip Ralph, is a veteran New Yorker and long-time Southampton business owner. Skip's love and knowledge of architecture, history and antiques is matched only by his graciousness as a host. He has saved a Hamptons treasure. The 1708 House's public rooms, grounds and guest suites...

We loved our 3 nights at 1708 House. Our first night we were late getting in and had wine and cheese waiting for us. Wonderful downtown location for walking. Beautiful home and dining room is exquisite for continental breakfast, and additional quiche on Sunday. We stayed in the older section first night and the bed was uncomfortable. Host was very...

House was beautiful, staff was extremely helpful. Tea and wine in the afternoons, breakfast in the morning was great. There's a basement wine cellar with games to play, dozens of sitting areas with fireplaces, and beautiful roof decks. Already planning our next trip!

After three consecutive annual Fall visits to this magnificent establishment, we have found this venue to be totally comfortable and enjoyable. It is a break from the vagaries of the real world. The ambiance and décor are impeccable, punctuated with artwork. The preservation of the main house is outstanding. The owner (Skip) and staff (Linda and John) are the epitome...
