This Inn os so Charming! We stayed in room 35, overlooking the lake and away from the staircase. It was lovely, comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was very nice on the enclosed front porch. Beautiful Views! We will be returning!

The price is not for everyone but it was a real treat for us to stay at the Sherwood Inn. It is located directly across the street from Clyde Park at the mouth of Skaneatles Lake, one of the smaller of 7 NY Finger Lakes. This colonial inn is well preserved in its style, so do not expect modern, however...

Visited the Sherwood inn the last 5 years for the Dickens Christmas . Enjoyed the lunch in the bar or dining room. The food is well prepared and the atmosphere is fantastic . Feels like an old World Christmas. Come to enjoy the food and drinks.

It's hard to begin when in the past I've had such a pleasant dining experience. In the past I have written stellar comments about this establishment. This Sunday my son and I decided to have lunch at the Sherwood, and to my dismay the service here has declined since our last two visits. I don't understand. There was Plenty of...

Where to start? For roughly the last ten years plus my husband and I have stayed at the Sherwood Inn several times a year, in the more sumptuous lakeside rooms and the smaller but still charming rooms away from the water. We love them all.The Inn is beautiful in winter, as we can attest, having spent several anniversaries there in...

Modest and vintage, this hotel provides a relaxing and unique feel to it. The rooms are filled with books and art that make it feel like a bedroom and not a hotel. The service was always responsive to our needs. Breakfast was great the next morning as well. Located right across from the water and in the center of the...

We just spent two nights here. We arrived on a Sunday and were checked into our room early. The parking lot was full as many people were dining. We were able to secure a parking place. Our room was exactly as viewed on the website. Although the room was nice and cool, the AC was really loud. Did not care...

For the price I anticipated overwhelming service, lots of amenities, and off the charts dining. Well..unfortunately.....it's a bit less than that. The challenge is, with such an inviting setting, couldn't it be easily be upgraded?? For example instead of dragging your suitcase across a parking lot offer valets? And insist on carrying luggage up three flights of stairs? Fuss over...

Visited on a Sunday. This is a lovely old inn. It has a nice restaurant and bar. There is no elevator, so be ready to carry luggage up the stairs. One issue was the fact that there was an "event" the day we arrived. I had called ahead to inquire about parking. They said there was "tons of parking out...
