Terrible experience and incompetent staff! After driving over 3 hours in a snowstorm to get to the cabins for our Christmas trip, we were greeted with our pin code not working. With the fact that the whole point is to "unwind with no electronics", we had no signal and had to look around for almost an hour to find signal to reach a customer service rep on the phone. The rep on the phone THEN gave us FIVE wrong passcodes and couldn't help us until someone else got on the phone. When we finally got into the cabin close to midnight, we were greeted with wooden walls growing mold and cobwebs on the walls. I would highly stay away from this place as the staff is incompetent and they don't show signs of TLC to their homes. This experience ruined our Christmas gathering and I am highly disappointed for what we received since we paid a premium and expected the same quality of service to be offered.…
We traveled up to the Western Catskills for a two night get away with our 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son, along with our pup. What a great time we had. The kids played and had so much fun exploring nature right outside the cabin. We went to the Russell Brooke Falls. The family loved it. The cabins were perfect. Comfy beds and pillows. Clean and organized. Playing cards and a few books for our reading pleasure. The shower pressure was great and the bathrooms were perfect. We had a double bed cabin. My kids enjoyed having thier own little space to relax. A cute welcome note from the on-site staff as well as a map for local adventures in the area. Having the option to buy provisionals was a great touch (smores kit, hot cocoa, fire starters). Kitchen was well equipped. Only wished they added some grilling utensils. The cabins are well thought out! Location is perfect and the visitors were very diverse which is great for our queer family. We cannot wait to go back!!!…
We had a lovely stay at the Getaway house and our expectations were far exceeded! Spotless, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped, the tiny cabin felt like home. Particularly enjoyed the handwritten welcome, the smores kit, the firestarter set, and the kitchen supplies.
It was a dream to experience living with nature this way. The cabin was clean, very cozy and just right for me, my hubby and our dog. The welcome gift was much appreciated. Proximity between cabins was alright. I prefer to see other humans than being alone in the dark 😁. The big window gave us the feeling of sleeping under the stars. We thoroughly enjoyed the campfire. There really was no cellular signal so be ready to entertain yourself like in the old days. Definitely a tech-free way to recharge
I must start with the customer service prior to our arrival by representative Gwen Griggs she was AMAZING! Professional, prompt responses, and accommodating (subsequent bookings with representative Brett were less than desirable but that’s another story for another day). Although small, the unit was well appointed and it honestly had everything we needed. We spent the days outside hiking, around the fire pit and picnic table and at night the bed provided a blissful nights sleep. Our four-legged baby accompanied us and they even had treats waiting for her. The even provide a discount for healthcare professionals and honestly it was refreshing to escape Nyc and forget we were in the midst of a pandemic; we were able to go maskless for our time there because we weren’t in contact with anyone. This was the perfect getaway to decompress and reconnect with nature.…
