Stayed here for two nights on our NY State road trip, I must be honest and say that prior to arriving, and after reading the reviews, I was a little sceptical of my expectations, what we found was totally opposite and there was no need for concern. Reception could not be faulted on arrival, checkin was straight forward and within minutes we were on our way to the room. The room was large, actually looked like a suite but without the sofa, was clean and well maintained. As usual the bed was exceptional comfortable and provided a great place to sleep and relax. The bathroom was large with a great walk-in shower with an exhilarating shower. Both room and bathroom looked as though they had been recently upgraded with furnishings and carpet. Breakfast, which had received poor reviews previously, could not be faulted. There was plenty of selection and choice and the area was clean with many empty tables. One area for comment is the hallways, on our floor most of the light fitting shades were damaged and should be replaced, as it lowers the tone of what should be a great experience. I would recommend the Fairfield in Plattsburgh for a comfortable and relaxing stay…
Room, amenities, location and staff were great. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Probably the poorest I have ever seen at a Marriott chain. Very limited choices and luke warm coffee. There was a toaster on the counter but absolutely nothing to toast. Would stay again but maybe go out for breakfast.
Passing through, only stayed one night. Very nice clean room. Comfortable bed, separate sitting area with tv. Microwave, mini 'fridge and extra bedding in the closet. Plenty of parking on property with charging stations for electric cars. Restaurants within walking distance. Slept in, didn't catch breakfast. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
If you have to stay in Plattsburgh, which I don’t recommend, then this is a reasonably good hotel. We often stay at Marriott hotels and they are fairly reliable. The room was fine in this one, but the breakfast was not up to their usual standards.
The hotel is in a good location but we sat on their outside patio only to find the door was not working to get back inside- the next door wasn’t working with either so we walked back to the front entrance. At 9:30 pm the toilet flusher broke — no maintenance person on staff so we could not use the toilet without opening the tank and manually making it work. Breakfast was the worse- no kitchen so it was microwaved pre made something in wrappers. No bread to toast although there was a toaster on display. They had pre-packed something they called scones?? Had the terrible coffee and left for Dunkin up the street. If you go the other way Starbucks can be found. NEVER TO RETURN HERE !!
Good location, friendly staff And service Clean rooms comfortable beds, Quiet other than the breakfast area not having enough food our stay was great, reasonably priced, location was great close to restaurants and highways, nice pool! Very clean
I emailed Regional Manager Nik Patel as well as firstname.lastname@example.org after my stay but no response from either. Thought I'd write and discuss my recent experience at the Plattsburgh, NY Marriot. I stayed there Saturday June 11th until June 12th. I am a loyal Marriott customer and stay at Marriott hotels when travelling for business and pleasure whenever possible. I've always been impressed with my Marriot experiences up until this weekend. My wife and I decided to spend the weekend motorcycling through the Adirondack Mountain range. I noticed that Plattsburgh had a Marriott so booked it well in advance. We arrived around 9pm on Saturday night and were greeted by a pleasant front desk woman. She told us to come down for a continental breakfast between 6am and 9am. We were checked in and had no issues. The only thing I will say I noticed was the wall paper around the toilet was discolored.... I believe it's from heavy cleaners, but at initial sight it looks like urine splatter all across the wall. I can overlook things like this in a hotel as I understand not everything is going to be perfect. What I can't overlook was my experience the following day. We woke up and went down for breakfast just before 8:30am. There was nothing out... Everything was cleared out. All that was there was an almost empty coffee carafe and a toaster with plates beside it. I asked front desk about it and they claimed that breakfast had already been cleaned up. I pointed to a sign right at the breakfast counter advertising that breakfast went until 9am. The front desk girl went back to the kitchen and the kitchen women came out and told up she cleans up breakfast before 8:30am..... I told her breakfast was advertised until 9am.... she then said she would get something but couldn't get bread because, "due to covid Marriott won't let us put bread out anymore". Then why is there a toaster with plates beside it? I have stayed at a number of Marriott's during the heart of Covid and they all had bread out (Canadian Marriotts). They all had 2 slices of bread wrapped together so people didn't make contact with other people's breakfast. The juice machine was also marked "out of order" with no other options (such as juice put out). I checked the machine thinking maybe only one juice of out but the entire machine was broken. Anyways, while we sat, a family of 2 adults and 3 kids came down, as well as a single gentleman, and discovered the same breakfast experience as us, then left. A women at a table near us was drinking coffee and commented to us that she came down at 8:20am and there was nothing out. She was unhappy. At around 8:45am the kitchen girl brought out some rock hard scones, the cereal stands, and a couple breakfast sandwiches. Another room arrived right away and took all the breakfast sandwiches leaving none and they weren't refilled. My wife had some cereal but all there was for milk was Homogenized Milk, Almond Milk or Soy Milk.... no 2% or Skim which are the most common...... I sat and had a coffee and saw the kitchen woman come out and what I believe to be the maintenance man approach her and told her she should keep breakfast out until 9am but other then that, "she is doing an awesome job", then yelled "cool beans" across the dining room..... I might be less annoyed by this but I have now read the reviews for this Marriott and the last 2 months of reviews cite the exact same breakfast issues that I had so I know this is an ongoing issue. As a result of your staff not doing their job properly, my wife and I had to go out for breakfast to the nearby Perkins for a total of $32 which was an unnecessary expense. I'm not complaining about spending $32 dollars, I'm complaining about the principle behind it. I know this isn't a standard Marriott experience, this is in-fact, the only bad Marriott experience I've ever had. I included pictures taken of the "breakfast" taken at 8:45am. I also included the pictures of the bathroom in our room. You should likely consider re-wall papering.......…
My son and I stayed here June 16 for one night on the way to Montreal. Have been a Marriott rewards member for many (30+?) years. If I could, I would give the hotel three stars and the breakfast zero. The hotel is fairly new, and initially seemed ok. The bath mat was completely threadbare, which is weird for a new hotel. The breakfast that was available was basically non-existent. The web site and front desk promised a hot breakfast from 6 - 10 am. At 8:20 am when I went down to the breakfast area, there was nothing left, and the attendant didn't seem to have anything else left to put out. There was no oatmeal, no yogurts, no milk for cold cereal, there was one nasty looking egg sandwich that might been there for hours (or the day before?). I got the last cup of coffee. The attendant looked like the maintenance guy, and I felt sorry for him. I asked for some milk for cereal and he brought me a container labeled milk, but it was heavy cream! Not good on cereal. I took one bite and tossed it. We gave up and went to the McDonald's down the road. I realize that many hotels are using covid as an excuse to reduce service and increase profits. The owner of this hotel has taken it to a new level. The franchisee should have to remove the Fairfield name from the hotel. If they take this short cut on breakfast, what other corners are being cut? We stayed in Plattsburgh again on the following Sunday night and stayed at the competitor right across the street. Great breakfast. The Fairfield owner/manager should walk across the street and see how it is done. ((I would provide the name but that might be reason to delete this review).…
I’m on government orders, working in the area for 30+ days. I called and asked if they honor the per diem rate and they said yes, except on weekends. I thought I’d give it the week and if it was worth it stay the month. Well, I arrived a few hours later and they told me they won’t honor the per diem rate. Seven cars in the entire lot and they turned away 30 days of revenue; interesting business strategy. I went down the street to a comparable hotel and got booked the month.
Overall confortable, and somewhat clean. The mirror and shower glass doors were smugged all over. Found some pistachio on the floor on the side of the bed which tells me vaccum was done but no overall quality control done. Sheet were clean and towels too. Main deception, jaccuzi was out of order. After a long motorcycle ride, we book where there is a pool and jaccuzi to relax but Nope not this time. Breakfast was not that good and ran out of most of everything.
