First, the location: Readily accessible and within walking distance of restaurants, a frozen yogurt place, and Perkin's right next door. I appreciated that. Second, the room: Clean, comfortable, quiet. Never had an issue with noise despite it being a busy time of the year. Third, service: Excellent attention from the front desk. Friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.
Stayed here before. Not a 5 star and we know it. We came fir the slides and the fun park. I stayed at 129 and at 10pm I took a cup from the the little kitchen area. Two roaches were there and not afraid of me.. I promptly went to the front desk and ask for a switch. The lady did it right away and said she'd put a note on a free night for this inconvenience. She also gave me an email Adress for me to send her manager the pictures I took. Next day I went to front desk and told the lady that the e-mail she gave was returning me a message of non-delivered status. There was a guy there, which I believe it's the manager , who has never said a Goodmorning nor an excuse on the situation. All he had to say is that Pest control is already on the old room. He said this in an arrogant way. I didn't come to complain for the previously room . I just came to help them by saying my pics couldn't be sent to their email. Next day, they still put the bill under my door with the two nights charged. I had to go see the arrogant manager before checking out. He did said something I couldn't understand, adjusted the bill but never excused... Sad! I had to say this to everyone.…
This is the absolute nicest Comfort Inn in which we’ve ever stayed!! Super clean and well kept, with unbelievable amenities and friendly staff. A FULL gym (three floors of weights, machines and equipment!) for use during your stay. An actual little water park inside the hotel (with water slides and a wading area for babies) for use during your stay. A complimentary breakfast (there is also an attached restaurant, if you want more than the complimentary breakfast, or don’t want to drive to get lunch or dinner) An attached pub to get beer, mixed drinks and pub food, without having to drive anywhere. And an full arcade! The absolute best part is the cost is no more than any run of the mill Comfort Inn. We will never stay anywhere else in or near Plattsburgh.
Overall, I had two good stays here within a three day period as I rotated between here another nearby Choice property to maximize my points with the current promotion. Service at the front desk was excellent, with thorough explanations of the hotels offerings provided. It can feel like a bit of a maze to get to your room, but eventually you will get there just fine. Inside, the room was clean and comfortable. The internet worked flawlessly. This is not a five star review because the noise issue must be addressed in this review, and this is a noise issue that is out of the hotel's control, in all fairness. I'm taking about how noise carries in the hallways, moreso then the average hotel. When you have "that person" who loves to talk to the person walking right next to them as if they are all the way down the hall, you are going to hear this conversation for a while. If you're anywhere near the pool, and it's a weekend, be ready to hear a lot of noise in the hall as people walk to it and from it during the pool hours. None of these guest behaviors were a product of the people doing anything out of the ordinary, but the noise just carries more then I have experienced at other properties, and I don't really know why it does. This is an "evening" issue more then a "night time" issue. If you're going to be watching TV, or streaming videos, or simply checking in after 10pm or so, then this probably is not something that will impact you all that much. If you are going to be doing work from the room, such as doing reports online or other business plans, reading, during the evening hours, then this may be more of a bother. Perhaps a much better "leisure traveler" hotel then a "business traveler" hotel. Before I leave this review, and I want to preface this by saying this has not impacted my rating. Whoever did the tile work in the rooms did an awful job. Tiles are not level (especially in 208, but 205 as well) and poorly connected. In 208, there is an empty area where tiles were not even large enough to make it to the carpeting, and nothing place to cover this opening. I meant to take a picture of that before I left. It is as if whoever did this work just tossed them on the floor with no care whatsoever. If this was recent work, I highly suggest calling them back to do this right. Since I saw both 205 and 208, I know this was not just "one room".…
We arrived (three of us) to an unbelievably clean room. We were sceptical at first and what a pleasant surprise. The rooms were practically remodeled they were so clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. What a surprisingly good pick for the start of the Father's day weekend.
We spent two nights /3 days in your place What a deceptin for us to learn that the waterpark was only open at 3:30 the day of our arrival. And after that when the kids were in the pool to be told that it closed at 8:00, same thing the next day.. On the website it was 9:00 to 9:00. We chose your place for all the activities that you advertise. It seems that there is a problem with the management , if you cannot give what you advertise. Second day - for breakfast so many people in line for the waffles, we had to wait 30 minutes, and there was no spoon or forks, no more bacon. Now for the room, there was so much mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, the shower head was discusting, need to be clean ou replace by shower phone or portable shower that would be the best with children. And on the last day, the kids were crying, we were supposed to go swimming before our departure and the pool was closed "again" this time we were told it was because there was no lifeguard!!!! my god what kind of management is that??? these things should be planned in advance not day by day. You are offering a waterpark be sure that it's available every day, You are receiving so much person from Québec for the March Break that this week should be like weekends for you hotel (all advertise 9h to 9h should be apply.…
The pool was a primary reason for selecting the hotel. While the rest of the hotel and on site facilities met our expectations, the pool was a bit disappointing. The pool area was extremely crowded. It seems as though people not staying on site can pay to use the pool, this info should be indicated on your website. The pool itself looks way more “beat up” and worse for wear. Broken tiles, loose/shaky support bars, and dirty pool walls were evident in person but not seen on the website. Additionally, the water was murky and cloudy and I hesitated letting my children go in. They did go in but only after about 20 minutes I began to get a very strong smell of chlorine/chemicals and my husband developed a headache and had to leave. I noticed my children and a lot of the other kids had the distinct “red eyes”. The potent smell and red eyes along with the appearance of the water made me realize that the pool was full of Chloramines (pee, poop, dirty bodies). I made my kids get out immediately and shower. We spent our time in the arcade area instead. It’s unfortunate, it’s a cute pool area but it’s filthy and swarming with non-hotel guests. …
I visit Plattsburgh, NY several times a year. I truly enjoy staying at this hotel. Tiffany at the front desk is a fountain of information and very helpful. Michael in the breakfast room is a delight to see every morning. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is a feast every day. As I was leaving I noticed workers coming in. I found out that this Comfort Inn is being remodeled!! Getting new furniture, etc... I am looking forward to my summer visit.
Coming here while it was EconoLodge and since the remodeling. Rooms are comfortable with a kitchen, Wifi and hot breakfast. You have an indoor Pool and work out area too. Staff is always friendly and this is a great spot for the family when you get the Suite with a door for the adults.
Our room (king suite with mini-fridge and microwave) on the main floor was away from the water park and Fun City(arcade) which was great for sleeping. The free breakfast was good. There were eggs, sausage, and bacon. Waffles, yogurt, muffins and danish along with cereal, toast, etc. The attached Perkins restaurant was a nice place to eat after a long business day. There are many restaurants close such as Applebee's, Texas Roadhouse, Ninety Nine, and Ground Round to mention a few. Would definitely stay here again.
