This place is a blast. We walked in and a man sitting at a table told us that yes, the bar was open but we'd need to serve ourselves. He later said we should get a discount since we had to act as our own bartenders--to be clear I even served him. Ha! He is a knowledgeable collector of a... More

It is hard to rate this property. Personally I enjoyed my stay. My daughter and I found the owner extremely helpful and nice. The common areas are an interesting mix of antiques carvings, taxidermy, lamps, wood stoves, juke boxes (I think I counted 4), china, paintings and lithographs, two pump organs, pool table and darts. Two dogs greet you and... More

After an impromptu skiing trip to the catskills, we decided to stay here due to the amazing reviews. Considering we paid just under 100 bucks, i wasn't expecting much. The bathroom was missing a shower head and apparently that was the "charm". The wash basin was broken and the bathroom floor was filled with water, leaking from all over the... More

After reading the reviews, we thought we were prepared for the place. We were expecting old, "quaint." Given the age of the building, we kept our expectations very low and were simply expecting a place to spend the night. But after being shown to our room, we didn't even want to sit on the bed. Everything was dirty and simply... More

What a fabulous place. Everywhere you look there are antiques and one of a kind decor. It felt like home. Saturday night buffet was absolutely delicious. Great variety of food. I am not a person who likes sweets but the bread pudding was to die for. Family business and you can feel it. Great bar atmosphere if you like a... More

We didn't stay overnight, but we enjoyed the home cooked food of Steve's Saturday night buffet. From salad, shrimp , sauerbraten, fried chicken, meatballs, mashed potatoes, soup and more ending with the "to die for" bread pudding - all delicious and all home made. Spend time in the lobby and bar checking out all his "stuff" - he has some... More

I traveled to the catskills for a family event and stayed at the colonial inn on 9/26/15. One night was more than enough. The place is extremely dirty, not quaint, dirty. No complaints about the owner, or the barmaid, they seemed nice. However, the small crowd, along with the barmaid, lets just say, I hope they dont kiss their mothers... More

We were heading for a wedding in the Catskills and found this B&B. The reviews looked intriguing and the price was right, so we booked a room for two. On arrival we were greeted by Isabella and Ella (two pet dogs) who noisily announced our arrival but were very well behaved and friendly. A brief scratch behind the ear and... More

The colonial inn is a great place for those of you who want to experience what life is really like in the Catskills. The owner Steve made us feel very welcome and after a couple of hours it felt like we were there for months. The buffet at the weekend is great value for money and brings a big crowd... More

Colonial Inn restaurant has an excellent buffet on Saturday nights for only $15.95! Bargain price for good, homemade, comfort food. Nothing fancy, but good tasting and all you can eat. Buffet includes salad, meats, noodles, potatoes, vegetables, and dessert. They often have shrimp for appetizers also. The inside is homey, comforting, and old fashioned, but very accommodating if you like... More
